ok. this article is EXACTLY the type of thing that gives hockey fans all over the world reason to heckle and sneer at the Los Angeles Kings. first -- it's "captain CANADA", not "captain captain" (is this hammond guy for real?) AND calling a guy with 59 points in less than a season's worth of games "a high scoring left winger" is pie-eyed.(300 goals in 900 games is called CONTRIBUTING.) LA is so desperate for anything that LOOKS like a step in any direction other than down or sideways, they'll hail this as some kind of brilliant move. it's more middling crap, except for the heart. can't judge smyth's heart... but we need more than a teaching moment. we need goal scoring. i'll reserve judgement until i see results, but first impression is more of the same from an ambivalent, absentee owner...
