Gander's Fitzgerald cracks Moosheads' lineup

Gander's Joshua Fitzgerald was passed over in the QMJHL draft twice, but will play with the Halifax Mooseheads this season after signing a free agent contract with the club last winter. Josh Fitzgerald's dream of playing major junior hockey is finally a reality Earlier this month, he was one of head coach Dominique Ducharme's picks to wear the Halifax Mooseheads' jersey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Flyers recall 9/11: Craig Berube was near DC, Ron Hextall lost a friend, Zac Rinaldo was confused

Flyers coach Craig Berube wasn't quite ready to quit playing hockey even though the long-time NHL enforcer was out of work when training camp for the 2000-01 season began. At the time, he was living outside Washington DC in Annapolis, Md., and waiting for a team to sign him.

Flyers: Claude Giroux will miss Scott Hartnell on and off ice, but 'we have to move on'

Giroux was among the NHL scoring leaders three sesaons in a row centering a Flyers top line that often had Hartnell on the left wing, finishing third in 2011-12 with a career-high 95 points, tied for 13th with 48 points in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign and third again last season with 86 points.
