the leaders on philly have a little more backbone than those people in ottawa ie Richards, gagne, Timonen, Hartnell, and Knuble. If he does things he shouldnt not only will he hear about it from those players but from management and the coaching staff.

The Flyers don't have anyone in their system that can step up and be the clear-cut no.1 goalie for them. Antero Niitymaki and Martin Biron are NOT legitinate, bonafide no.1 goalies, and on the market, I cannot think of a goalie out there that the Flyers could trade for that wouldn't involve ripping apart the Flyers team to get that goalie. JS Giguere is too expensive and doesn't want to leave California. Luongo is too expensive and the 'Nucks would want Giroux and Carter in return. Khabibulin is too old and will command at least 5M per season. Martin Biron also thinks he's worth 5 million per year, and there's no way the Flyers will pay that for a no.2 goalie....Ray Emery is the most logical option financially, and has the potential for high reward, even though he's a big risk. It's only a 1-year deal anyways, so it's not like the Flyers would have him locked up for a multiyear deal and have to deal with his cap hit.

This deal would be yet another bad goaltender signing by the Flyers who must hold the record for scrimping out on goalies since HacksAll minded the twine. Lehtonen, Harding, Bryzgalov and others who have better upsides than Rayzor can be had.

Lehtonen, Harding, Bryzgalov and others who have better upsides than Rayzor can be had. I'm talking about goalies that are ready to play right now. Harding is not one of those, although he is likely to be a solid no.1 goalie when the time comes. The Flyers have the assets to trade for a goalie prospect like him or go after. Lehotonen, Harding, and Bryzgalov can all be had in a trade, yes, but Lehotenen also is expected to make 4 million for 2010-11 and Bryzgalov already has a 4.25M cap hit, so he might be tough to get...depending on who the Flyers would give up. The only reasonable goalie prospects that I see the Flyers going after are Josh Harding and Jhonas Enroth. Enroth is the top prospect for the Sabres and since Ryan Miller is their main man over there, the Flyers could make a trade with the Sabres for Enroth, without giving up too much.

The Flyers want a goalie to win now. They just don't give them a chance. The Flyers always play gams with their goalies so you never know who is clearly #1. With Emery, the only rerason why they got him is money issues. I don;t see him doing much this year let alone the Flyers. Sign a top notch goalie and stick with him all season.
