The Hoosick Falls Central School girls soccer team continued its winning ways with a 3-1 Wasaren League win over Mechanicville on Friday afternoon. Three different players tallied for the Panthers: Taylor Mann and Jordyn Haynes scored in the first half for a 2-0 lead into the break.

Roundup: Proft tops at Otter Valley

Burr and Burton Academy's Anders Proft won his first cross-country race of the season at Otter Valley on Tuesday, crossing the line first in a time of 19 minutes, 31 seconds. Other top 10 BBA runners were Scott Mooney in fifth in 20:42 and Sam Silsby in seventh in a time of 21:03.

Bulldogs looking for four-peat as James rolls around

Going into its 46th year, the James, as it is called by locals, is the official declaration that fall sports are in full swing. And, as has been the case since 1983, the boys soccer teams from Arlington Memorial High School, Brattleboro Union High School, Burr and Burton Academy and host Mount Anthony Union High School will take to the pitch at Spinelli Field today in an effort to gain bragging rights in Southern Vermont.

The Village of North Bennington Board of Trustees met for their monthly meeting on Tuesday night, and discussed the village's new LED street lights and ongoing revisions to the village charter. Members of the trustees noticed several months ago that some passages in the village charter were out-of-date , and others were in conflict with village and Bennington by-laws.

The Arlington Memorial High School girls soccer team is on a mission - get back to the prominence that the Eagles have been known for throughout the years. Seniors Julia Lacoste and Molly Elwell combined to score all six goals and rack up three assists in the Eagles' 6-2 rout over Fair Haven.
