Kodiak High tennis team brings game to Homer

Homer High School might not have a tennis team, but they do have tennis courts and that's exactly what the 19-member Kodiak High School Bears tennis team was looking for when it paid a visit to the area Aug. 30-31. "This is like the fourth or fifth time they've come here," Will Files of the Homer Tennis Association said of the Bears' annual visit to Homer.

Pitzman takes North-South - all tournament' honors

The Homer Mariners volleyball team served up a fourth-place finish at the North-South Tournament in Houston last week, playing against teams from Anchorage Christian School, Bethel, Delta, Houston, Hutchison, Monroe, Seward, Sitka and Valdez. Homer's Kyla Pitzman led the team with 40 kills for the tournament, averaging six per game.

Mariner girls finish 3rd, boys 10th in XC meet

At the Tsalteshi Invitational in Soldotna Saturday - the biggest cross-country event of the season, second only to state competition - the Homer High School Mariner varsity girls raced to an impressive third place team finish and the boys claimed a solid 10th place.
