Pity your friendly local undertaker. He now has to wait a while longer for all those people to "cash in" so he can cash their checks. >:~(

Our all seeing government that knows when you are going to die and what you are going to die from. Wonder if they have the names of the people that the bans saved.
Many again are buying from the black market or growing their own. When you have a law that is unjust it will be broken. Many ways around a unjust law. Here in the states the bans are against the constitution and what used to be our form of government. In the UK the Queen owns all the land, so they can say pretty much what you can do with it. Here it will not be long before the banks own most of the land. Whoops hey the states own all the land. Except for one. People here just pay rent on the land. No different then the UK.

Interesting, since this report says,
Banning smoking in public places has made no difference to the number of people who smoke, according to an NHS report.
The damning publication from the NHS Information Centre states there was “no significant difference” in the number of people who smoked before and after the law changed in 2007.
The report compared smoking in the six months before the smoking ban with the six months after its introduction.
It found that men over the age of 35 smoke fewer cigarettes than before the ban, but younger men have started smoking more since it was introduced.
Positive findings from the report were that one third of smokers now stay at home to smoke instead of going out, resulting in adults being exposed to less second-hand smoke than before the ban. However there has been no difference for children exposed to second-hand smoke.

Kids are getting more smoke than ever before now that adults and their friends don't go to bars as often, especially in the winter when energy-efficient air tight homes are closed up.

Just like with books, the best way to get kids to want something is to ban it. Banning a book that no one ever heard of is the bast way to make it a top seller.
