What IS that key ingredient also found in anti-freeze?
Is it this ingredient? Consequently, aerosol studies have often employed compatible solvents such as propylene glycol[6] or ethanol[7] as the vehicle for administration by nebulizer or have used more complicated aqueous-based formulations involving liposomes [8][9] or other dispersions [10]. Dry powder inhaler [11][12] as well as propellant metered dose inhaler (pMDI) formulations [13][14] have also been created and evaluated in the laboratory and in early clinical studies.
Anti freeze, asthma inhalers, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol

A colourless, volatile, flammable liquid produced by fermentation of yeast and carbohydrates. Alcohol is frequently used as a solvent. As an ingredient in ingestible products, alcohol may cause body tissues to be more vulnerable to carcinogens.

Mouthwashes with an alcohol content over 25% have been implicated in mouth, tongue and throat cancers. Note, the forms of alcohol used in cosmetics are not necessarily those used in alcoholic drinks, and may be much more dangerous.

Some examples

Ethylene glycol, is commonly used in acrylic paints, brake fluid, antifreeze, tile grout, primer, sealant paste, floor polish, tyre sealant and shoe polish. Oh yes.......and it's also used in some "smoothing lotions" and "firming moisturizer"!

Known health effects: throat irritation, headache, backache, kidney problems, oedema (swelling), necrosis (cell death). If swallowed, can cause drowsiness, and slurred speech, possibly stupor, vomiting, respiratory failure, coma, convulsions, and death
Found in: skin "firming" lotions.

Propylene Glycol

A cosmetic form of mineral oil found in automatic brake and hydraulic fluid and industrial antifreeze. In the skin and hair, propylene glycol works as a humescent, which causes retention of moisture content of skin or cosmetic products by preventing the escape of moisture or water. The Material Safety Data Sheet warns users to avoid skin contact with propylene glycol as this strong skin irritant can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage.

Known health effects.

Eye irritation, skin irritation, skin drying, defatting. Ingestion has serious health effects similar to above.

Propylene glycol is Commonly found in:

makeup
shampoo
deodorant
detangler
styling mousse
cleansing cream
mascara
soap
skin cream
bubble bath
baby powder
conditioner
toner
after shave
baby wipes
The anti smoking cartel will stop at NOTHING to avoid the appearance of smoking. They will lie, cheat, steal, and commit fraud. This is their latest trick.

"Propylene Glycol in Cake
Propylene glycol — the very same ingredient in antifreeze and aircraft de-icer now found in cake!"

I found another article on the subject. And they said that half emitted nitrosamine, but if you look that up it says may cause cancer the research is inconclusive.

The only danger they present is to to bottom line of the cessation manufacturing company that spent millions to get these bans in the first place, thereby undermining the entire purpose of smoking bans. Also, unlike Chantix, they have no mind altering drugs and can be safely used by airline pilots, railroad engineers, truck drivers, and others in jobs where public safety is an issue.

All they need is a warning label, similar to Chantix.

Yeah, that's from cooking stuff at high temperatures...such as grilled meat or fish. "nitrosamines appear to be the primary agent in the carcinogenic process; nitrosamines are often found in salted, pickled, and/or fermented foods. Cooking foods at high temperatures results in the formation of PAHs, which adhere to the surface of the food (2). Charred surfaces of meat and fish also contain HAs, which are formed from creatine or creatinine, amino acids, and sugars."

One day the radicals will go ....
I guess everyone has heard the Obama regime is pushing for brain washing at age 75 on why you should die instead of medical care. When they need to cut more spending, I wonder what will be next. The handicapped or retarded? There goes the radicals.

If the new Hitler-ism gets its way, everyone best plan on lights out by age 75 if they get sick.

Enjoy life! Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.

Let's do some comparisons, starting with this substance in e cigarettes and then in Nicorette.
What about Nitrosamines? Nitrosamines are carcinogens. Tobacco specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) are found in the liquid used by Ruyan in their cartridges. According to the Health New Zealand report1, the amount increases with the amount of nicotine, and the average is 3.928 Ng (or parts per billion [ppb]). The breakdown is as follows:

Quote:
Nitrosamines
0mg - 0.260 Ng (ppb)
6mg - 3.068 Ng
11mg - 4.200 Ng
16mg - 8.183 Ng

The highest amount found was in 16mg liquid, which had an average of 8.183 Ng. In comparison, Nicorette Gum (which is approved as an NRT) contains about 8 Ng.

In ONE sample of 18, it was found. Diethylene Glycol is not a known carcinogen, nor is it expected to be found as one in the future. In addition, the dose required to kill half of the sample of rats tested is 12.565 g/kg and 11.89 g/kg for rabbits. Assuming this can be extended to humans, an average adult male would have to ingest 855.925 g to receive a lethal dose.

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that the analysis was done May 4th just in time for their big FDA announcement scheduled for May 5th, which they canceled? If the public needed to know about this "dangerous" product, why wait until now? Did they need to recraft their findings?

The rest of the story is that not only did the FDA act like an advocacy group, but they and the anti-smoking groups actually acted like pro-smoking advocacy groups. They did the work of Big Tobacco on Thursday, and the beauty of it all is that the tobacco companies didn't have to say a word.
There is no bigger favor that anti-smoking groups or the FDA could do for Big Tobacco than to urge consumers not to use electronic cigarettes. These products represent perhaps the greatest threat to domestic cigarette profits. There are well over 100,000 users of e-cigarettes and most of these users represent former cigarette smokers. Most of the rest are individuals who have greatly cut down on the amount that they smoke. So dollars spent on e-cigarettes are essentially dollars not spent on cigarettes. The higher electronic cigarette consumption is, the lower analog cigarette consumption is.
What the FDA and the anti-smoking groups seemingly fail to realize is that by urging e-cigarette users to stop vaping, they are essentially instructing these individuals to return to cigarette smoking.
For the FDA officials and anti-smoking groups reading this, let me highlight this point: What the FDA and the anti-smoking groups seemingly fail to realize is that by urging e-cigarette users to stop vaping, they are essentially instructing these individuals to return to cigarette smoking.
Why would the FDA and anti-smoking groups want to create an additional 100,000-plus smokers overnight? How is it possibly beneficial for the public's health to have well over 100,000 people who were managing miraculously to keep off of cigarettes to return to cigarette smoking?
There are thousands of testimonials from vapers who had previously been smoking two, there, four packs of cigarettes a day. Many of these smokers had tried NRT to no avail. Many were smokers who had smoked for 20 to 30 years and been unable to quit. Suddenly, they have found a product that enables them to keep off of cigarettes. Or at least to substantially cut down on the amount that they smoke. Many of these vapers testify that their health has improved considerably. Their doctors have expressed amazement at how clear their lungs sound.
