Symptoms of sleep apnea

Full story: Salisbury Post

It is hard to tell that someone has sleep apnea simply by reviewing symptoms. A firm diagnosis can be made only after a patient undergoes an overnight sleep study, in which his or her breathing is monitored.

Did you the following different cost effective options available in the market which limit/prevent snoring?
1)Disposable nasal strips
2)Anti-sleep apnea Pillows(E.g. Sona pillow)

Having sleep apnea is hell. The only thing available is a CPAP machine and I can't use mine. I tried for months without success; can't get used to it. So I have to sleep alone, get separate hotel rooms when traveling, and I hate it. I don't know about low-cost sleep studies but if you really want to undergo it, I'd ask at your local hospitals to see if there's a program for you. I wish I hadn't had mine; yes, I now know I have obstructive apnea but since there's no solution, I don't think it was worth it. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining but honest to god, apnea is horrible. I can't remember the last time I awoke rested. It's affected every part of my life. My daughter's a nurse and she's concerned with the heart effects from apnea which honestly, is the least of my personal concerns. I'd rather be rid of the snoring and awful sleep patterns and risk the heart problems. If there are any researchers out there who want to work on something other than the normal research subjects, please come up with a way to completely eliminate apnea without using the CPAP. Surgery, meds, whatever...I don't think a person with apnea cares what it is as long as it works. I use nasal strips and the Sona pillow is fine for light snoring but it doesn't work for apnea. The strips keep my nose clear but my partner tells me it doesn't do anything for the snoring. Good luck to all who suffer with the same thing.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Virgo

Someone wants a favor from you, so be ready for a not-so-subtle play on your sympathy. Expect a big song and dance about not being very well, or sad complaints about all the chores, as though you don't have enough of your own to cope with. If you agree to help, do so out of the goodness of your heart rather than because you've been manipulated into it.
