There was no early warning on morningstars part. We live here and never heard a word until today! Wow. No phone call, no flier, nothing! Hopefully nobody gets sick.

im down with that! Free rent or water! |

Hand delivered notices? Immediate notification? If I didn't get the Daily Times, I'd never have known about this at all.
Surely they could have tried harder to let us know about the problem, but that would have cost them time and money...something they feel is more worthy than their customer's health. I listen to the talk radio station most of the day and I didn't hear anything about it all week. I think someone's BSing the public big time. |

no free rent, however, water plus all expenses on costs involved for their mistake plus punitive for being stupid in a no stupid zone.

i hope no one has gotten ill because of this fiasco. all they would have had to do was put up notices on the neighborhood mailbox units or if they were sincerely concerned about their customers, they could have given us all notices, hand delivered. they sure can bill us for capital adjustments and for "energy adjustments" and they can read the meters of all their 2000+ customers but they can not warn us of a potential deadly consequence. i believe we should all go to their next meeting and get some things straight. i am starting to feel this animas crew are no different than the aussies!

I did not receive any notice either, and we have been to Morningstar's office 3 times this week due to receiving a $484 water bill, that we used 51,000 gallons of water last month! Their response was that our water usage always goes up in the summer! WHAT??? We are on our 2nd meter as the last one was not calibrated properly...how can we trust this? We also found out that the capital improvements/energy adjustments, which were only to be assessed for 1 year, have now been voted to be permanent costs.
Has anyone else received an abnormally large water bill lately? We need to get together to see if they will fix the problems...besides the e.coli. |

I have talked to everyone on my street and No
NOTIFICATION for anyone on our street!!! I want someone to tell me something here. This is out of control. I have been sick and will be finding out tomorrow if it is E. Coli! |

We just now found out about this today from my sister in-law (7/9/09 at 6:20 PM) and she doesn't even live up here. What is going on with these people they lie and put everyone in danger without telling anyone about this something has to be done somebody please help us. What other dangers have they not informed anyone about.

The statement the spokeswoman from the Environment Department made to the Daily Times with regard to "immediate notification" of customers is in error.
The spokeswoman was either misled by Morningstar representatives OR it is a lie. Our Household was notified on July 8th at approximately 6:00 pm. During the period from July 1st until the evening of July 8th, we entertained out of state visitors and family members, which included infant grandchildren and our daughter who is 5 months pregnant, all of whom drank the water from our tap. While it is indeed unfortunate that the Morningstar Water system has been dangerously contaminated, it is far more disturbing that erroneous statements are made to attempt to "spin" the situation. |

no one was told no letters no calls, i found out now that i turned on my computer! 8:04 pm on 7-9-09 thanks alot animas! i also found out they never go test any of the water they just get it from the faucet at the office and fix it if they find something. they also dont read the meters every month they just charge what ever the feel like. so much for adding on these capital and energy charges so they could make improvements, don't see any my water still smells like a wet dog!

I have to agree with all your comments. I just found out today the that our water was not drinkable. My son has been sick and I will be calling his doctor to see if his sickness has anything to do with this problem. Nobody brought a letter to my house to say anything about the water and I did not receive a phone call. I called Morningstar starting at 10 am and didn't get through till 1:30pm. Everythime I called the phone would just ring. It's kinda scary because we drink about 4 gallons of water a day from our sink. Nobody has even told us what the side effects are.

has anyone ever noticed the previous and current usage numbers on your bills, i have found times when they dont match up from one month to the next. for example one month mine said
7990 previous to 9580 current and on the next bill it said 8500 previous. explain that. they said its right theres nothing we can do except charge you to, go read it again. numbers dont add up, that maybe why someone was charged 484, check all the numbers of your past bills |

I want to know what Morningstar is going to do to fix this. They have made sure they add stupid charges to my monthly bill for improvements. What happens to that money? Also how many people live & work in crouch mesa that still don't know about this!!!
|
||||
|
This was the first I heard as well. You may not remember but we all up here on the mesa received a letter maybe a year ago saying that some samples had come back bad. The letter was sent approximately 1-2 months after the incident with a "reassuring" nothing to worry about. They need to get their crap straight and stop assessing capital improvement and energy charges if they can't manage the system corectly. I thought my money was going towards bettering the system but apparently I was wrong.
|
||||
|
Not bacteria...just many many gallons of METH chemicals that made it's way into water supply.
Some call it 'The Crouch Mesa Meth Circle of Life" |
||||
|
Calm down, this is probably the City of Farmington setting up a crises so they can take over (purchase)the Morningstar water system. Be on alert for Step 2 of the takeover attempt. Farmington wants all Crouch Mesa residence to vote yes for annexation. Don't worry: $20,000 to tie into city sewer, $15,000 to tie into city water, $10,000 for street pavement - you can afford it.
