The iris has two muscles: The dilator muscle makes the iris smaller and therefore the pupil larger, allowing more light into the eye; the sphincter muscle makes the iris larger and the pupil smaller, allowing less light into the eye. Pupil size can change from 2 millimeters to 8 millimeters. This means that by changing the size of the pupil, the eye can change the amount of light that enters it by 30 times.

Either not enough of you college grads. are willing to stand up for what you were brought up to believe in from grade school or the whole idea of the the american constitution and basics has been dilluted, let's just say both. O.K. now I would like to put it in another way.Europe is distinct in it's own way, as in Asia, as in the MiddleEast, as in the EasternBlock countries, your slippin' America, an easy stand by...I hate to start trouble here but it's a wake up call. We are fighting a war that really does not belong to us At All, our young men and women are losing their lives. I would Like to know Who's war are we really fighting for? I am not afraid to ask questions, isn't that what this forum is about?

OK, seriously..
I have a friend I've been chatting with on the radio, in Wales.
His Wife has a major tooth infection, and is preganant, so what does the Govt. do?
They tell Her "It'll be about 8 MOMTHS till We can fix Your teeth, here's all the pain-killers You can eat".
So They got her, while pregnant, mind You on opiates, and after the work was done She was given a year of paid-leave to get off the pain killers...weird system.

All I can remember when I worked throughout Europe was that up to 37% of My pay was going into socialized medicine.

I know why. The government controls the waiting lists. Republicans who need heart transplants had better buy some "How to" books on the subject. Can't afford Social Security? Easy fix. Stop treating seniors until they are gone. Problem solved. THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL MY NANA!

OMG! Mmmkay Bunny...you totally win this argument. Mea Culpa. My brother never went thru so many problems in Germany, but to tell you the truth he's kind of a hypochondriac any way but they fixed his nose and the did some other surgery and he didnt have to pay so I thought, well, there you go. Sounds good. When his daughter came to visit us she had the choice when she graduated high school of either a drivers liscense or a trip to the U.S. She tells us her drivers liscense would have cost about 1200$. The trip was cheaper (3 hrs ago | post #13)

Why didn't your 'friend' pay for private dental care in Wales as it is an option?

Jobs could get what he needed , while others who don't have the financial backing wait for months if not years and perish while waiting, nahh this country has great health care, long as you got a fat ass pocket book , once it is dry you will be left for dead.

You can not point facts out to people who think they are going to get free good health care. The fact that there will be a pannel who decides if you need surjury, if a baby is classed viable, if the treatment is needed or if you should just be graceful and die does not sink in. All they see if the free and affordable. They do not get that Canada has so few neonatal units they are sending premies to the U.S. or that breast cancer is not always treated, or that other cancers are not. They do not get that HEP has a waiting list of a year or more to see a specialist and then another wait to get treated and in the mean time your liver goes and you have a chance of eventually getting on a transplant list if they think you are a good candidate.

They do not see that in England you wait up to and exceeding 6 months to see a heart specialist and most die first. Or that they have stopped treating some deseases as not cost effective. They see free or affordable and like the sound. They have over looked the true facts or they watched Moores want-a-be movie and think it is true without looking up the facts. They have overlooked the fact that all those countries have a high ratio of patiants and few doctors with less being trained. Soon it will be for every doctor there will be 2 or 3 thousand patiants.

Free and affordable. Sounds good but facts prove it is a high price to pay for. In taxes everyone will see less money in their pay, along with less health care and then wonder what went wrong. A perfect world would be nice but it does not exsist and it doesn't for several reason. First and foremost is because it is a dream not a reality.

THAT is what I am telling anyone that will listen. Government health care is simple a way of eliminating most of the elderly. My aunt who is 60 and has years of life left, just had a cancerous polyp removed. If we had a national health care she would have been out of luck.
The middle aged of this country that has been giving billions to Medicare, will be told to pi$$ off, we don't need you anymore so go away and die.
Our corrupt government is getting more evil day by day.
Can you image the multi-billions that will be spent on illegal aliens if this ever goes through.
