While they are it at, they might as well argue for the right to go wherever they please.

Some people do reform. If the complete the punishment and stay crime free they should have there rights restored. Some crimes that are considered felonies are really not allways that sereious.

There are two problems with rescinding 2nd Amendment rights based on this criteria. First, what is considered a "felony" is much too broad, causing those found guilty of writing a bad check or found possessing small amounts of "prohibited substances" to loose their rights.(I'm not addressing the ludicrous, arguably unconstitutional "Lautenberg Amendment" at this time.) Second, there is a procedure for citizens to apply to have their 2nd Amendment rights restored, but --and it's a huge "but"-- all funding for the appeal procedure has been suspended by the BATFE. A citizen can file the required paperwork but, then, the appeal stalls. Those who have committed violent crimes should have a right to an appeal, with stringent investigation. Other "felons" should be permitted such an appeal with minimal processing. Rick Jennings www.gunguy.net

What difference does it make? Convicted felons can already get guns if they want anyway. They have already broken the law. What is going to stop them from breaking a stupid gun control law?

The definition of a felony certainly needs to be raised. Right now it's "any crime for which the maximum penalty is a year or more in prison". That's a very low bar. Most felons were just convicted of mickey mouse drug crimes and many never did a day in prison but they lost constitutional rights!!!

Hell no. Commit a felony...lose your right to legally be armed. Want to be legally armed...don't be a criminal. Plain and simple.

Next thing you know, you will tell me that committing a felony means being locked up in prison...
