Day wins World Cup, Australia take team title
MELBOURNE: Jason Day helped end a 24-year winless drought for Australia at the World Cup on Sunday and took the event's individual honour in an emotional double-triumph after losing eight relatives to Typhoon Haiyan.

Australia's ''Dream Team'' is poised to make good on Adam Scott's promise to win the World Cup, but it seems far more likely that it will be Jason Day's personal glory that delivers the host nation's triumph.
Adam Scott and Jason Day start the ISPS Handa 2013 World Cup of Golf as the warm favourites to become Australia's 5th winners of the World Cup following the victories of Peter Thomson and Kel Nagle in 1954 and 1959, David Graham and Bruce Devlin in 1970 and Peter Fowler and Wayne Grady in 1989.
