Gay community to celebrate annual Pink Loerie Festival

I am very happy that events like this exist, as I have family members who are gay and even though we are AFRIKAANS, they are loved and excepted. I had a really bad experience in a well known pub in Knysna, which resulted in me alerting the police. I wish you a relaxed and happy time in Knysna, although we would not have chosen this town ourselves. Watch out for Terry and wharever you do don't go anywhere that has a B at the end of it's name

I do accept gay people and have a let live attitude. But, I am becoming fedup with this attitude that people have to change to accomodate them. They should also attempt to fit in to society and stop expecting everybody to give up their values they hold dear. An example: Gay people have the right to have their own churches which is fair, but should not force our churches to change our beliefs to suit them. I also feel that people shoving their gayness down everybody's throat is also unacceptable, as it is not acceptable for especially the older generation. It is rather queer (excuse the pun) that they need to advertise their proudly gayness all the time
