Please, do not be blind, Hugo is an elected dictator, who has used petroleum's power to feed poor in Venezuela, then offer them all. He can maintain a dependent society from the goverment there. This way most of people ( poor ) will keep him in power until he dies. However, corruption, lack of freedom and criminal oppression to those critical of him, promise to change to a fair societiy in 21 century, direct threats to opossition from a Narcissist, obscene uneducated president will put all of you back in history.

Well I see that you people are looking at the prism the wrong way, Yes Chavez has some bad points about him as all leaders or figures of power do. But you have bought the American lie that chavez is some sort of monster. most of you may remember that in the 60's 70's and 80's we were all over south america intalling "Democratically elected officals" most of the time after the people of that country had already used the "Democratic" method to elect their officals. We were getting goods and resources for cheap from these countries and selling it for a profit back home.
Chavez stood up and said no more!! And like others before him the US Gov tried to cast him in a bad light so that they could have grounds to remove him, it did not work!! Read about the failed coup of Hugo Chavez and the history of others whom the empire replaced because they said " We will no longer allow you to come and steal our natural resources" This is bad real bad, and it gets worse read about some of the atrocities that occured when "American Backed" leaders were put in place. Hugo survived the Empires assuault where Allende did not and pinochet came into power resulting in terrible atrocites!! oh and his US millitary backed coup happened on 9-11-73 and they had their own little version of Abu Ghraib.
