You need to get out of this monolithic thinking, it's the opposition representing all of those bums of the past or Chavez. That is too simplistic. We also reject the corrupt leaders of the past and what they did. We are looking at individuals here not parties. Yes Venezuela needs a revolution to undo the corruptiion and injustice caused from thye past but Chavez has shown that he is not the man to accomplish that. He is incompetent and foolish. His methods are laughable. Trying to get insight and instruction from Fidel Castro is beyond stupid. He's whole foreign policy which flirts which know didctators like Kim jon Ill, Mugabe, Achmadenejad etc is dangerous and irresponsible. I could give an endless list of this guys blunders. The bottom line is Chavez appears to a potato chip for a brain. He is leading the country into harms way.

What the heck does that have to do with bitching about the USA and defending a system that you don't live in? You live here in the good old USA, but defend Chavez and his "paradise" You claim to be a Venezuelan, but live here and bitch about the Empire and how it has raped the old fields and taken the profits Venezuela. Boy, you are one hard cookie to understand, but that is how liberal, USA haters act! I love this country with all its faults and if I lived in another country by choice then I would not be putting the new country down while defending the USA. You either put up or shut up! And dude, I just don't see you doing either!

Stella,

Very good information on how oil prices are going down and how the world economic woes are hurting everyone. Thanks for the information, but I doubt the Chavistas on this forum will look at it. When you have a country that depends only on one product you hurt your chances to survive. I bet you Chavez will blame the USA again for what is going on in the drop of oil prices. We are going to drill for the oil we got and continue to work on alternative fuels and energy. The demand of gas has reduced the demand of oil in the USA, inturn reducing the demand from the heavy sulfur laden oil of Venezuela and oil in general. Sorry, but this is not going to be good for your country due to Chavez and his economic policies.

Social Panorama of Latin America 2007
United Nations, ECLAC

(page 10)
"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reduced it's poverty and extreme poverty rates by 18.4% and 12.3% percentage points, respectively, between
2002 and 2006, Thanks to rapid GDP growth and the ongoing implementation of broad social programmes, in 2006 alone the poverty rate was lowered from 37.1% to 30.2%, and the indingence rate from 15.9% to 9.9%. This swift pace of progress considerably brightens the prospects for further reductions in poverty..."

Dude, you can't even spell gente..nevermind. It does have to be Rosales or Leopoldo lopez. But Chavez is not the man. His main interest is in underming the US and trying build some kind of latin american coalition against us. He is squandering all his countries wealth in this nonsense. Look how his doofus got caught in Ft Lauderdale with all that money he was trying to send to Argentina. He should be investing in his country..buikding schools, encourageing investment etc. And while many of the upper class may be corrupt, they are still the best educated and the smartest. You need to make use of them. You don't fire them from their positions and then get dummies off the street to replace them!! How stupid is that? Imagine if Bush hired some bus driver that didn't finish school to be his secretary of state?? Why do the venezuelan people even accept sh!t like that?? Venezuela is country with a lot of pontential but I'm afraid Chavez is ruining it for you. Sooner or later he is going to provoke the US to take military action and probably sanctions against your country, and taht could be devastating.

From what I have read and you post, you don't seem to like anything of us, just the money you are making here. What pisses many of us here in America is people like you defending someone like Chavez and all his POLICIES and not living under them. You cannot defend something or soemone like Chavez and then bite the very hand that is giving you the opportunity to live here. No, I am not a dictator, I am an AMERICAN who will critique the very government policies that hurt all of us, but you defend a despot dictator. If I was to live in Mexico or Venezuela and critique the government and its policies I would be sent home, just like Amnesty International, remember that incident?

You got that Billy! The news that's the most interesting is the news that the people of the United States don't see in the general media.

Like in your statements, it's based on information that's been seen, but not in the mainstream media, over a period of time.

There's a lot of news out there, and most of the time the critical news has to be mined, like a metal, and then processed.

The mainsteam media information services give good weather reports, but the political and economic information is generally trash and propaganda-like.
Billy Hewitt wrote:
Venezuela is under the spell of the dark spider Bush and his bank robbers. Dark spider Bush has slaughtered 2 MILLION iraqi men, women, and children. Now the dark spider Bush plans to invade Venezuela and steal the oil and gas and kidnap young Venezuelan women for sex slaves to be sold to Saudi and Kuwaiti princes. US Congressional testimony has confirmed the securities liability incurred by American taxpayers from the Bush & democratic bailouts (Bear Stearns + AIG + Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac +$700 BILLION giveaway) to be $63 TRILLION or more. Why were the debates limited to senator John McCain and senator Barack Obama who were responsible for the greatest robbery in the history of the world? They have just robbed 300 million americans of $63 TRILLION. The only way america can be saved is to elect Ralph Nader who is an honest american and would go after these crooks. Bush and the political crooks have ruined the global economy and threaten Russia and Germany. The only way to save Germany and Russia from the Bush infection is to isolate America like a deadly disease. Paulson should be in Guantanamo jail as an enemy combatant. This crook is head of the Bush Bank Robbers gang. This crook stole $63 TRILLION from 300 million americans. He deserves aggressive interrogation and daily waterboarding for the next 25 years. McCain put this crook in Guantanamo jail and you will be elected.

The US "nuked" Hiroshima and Nagasaki, since that time, the nuclear THREAT weapons have not been used in attacks of war.

Next time there are "nukes" used on plain-ol-folks, the domino effect could "burn" all of us.

The US theory is only use nukes if they need this over STAT... ie. Korea, Viet Nam... you know when it's Team (B) vs Team (A)merica.

Plus, the US military just loves to try out all those other new war toys they have, and there's no time for that if ya "nuke-em".
