Don't be stupid, Venezuela has traditionally received performers from all parts of the world, all this is before Chavez and also during his government. I personally enjoyed Peter Gabriel, Sting, Guns N' Roses and Metallica. In later years all kinds of bands have gone from Oasis to Offspring and even Alanis Morrisette. That is without counting the Latino contingent which includes Mana, Luis Miguel, Enrique Iglesias, Soda Stereo, Mecano, Eros Ramatzotti and so on.

The problem has never been price is actually venue. Where do you put such a great number of people? How do you ensure security? and so on. If Madonna goes to Venezuela I am sure the sons and daughters of the red bolivarian army generals will have first row seats. That would be the sons and daughters of the corrupt ones. I am also sure it will be full anyway.

The economic situation of a country is not solely reflected on a concert. But funny that you mention Madonna's security. Chavistas have ways on endagering performes... when I got out of Guns N' Roses in the parking lot of the poliedro there were tanks on the streets and the was weird activity around Fuerte Tiuna. You know what it was? It was the secont attempt at a coup by Chavez's minions right on the morning after the concert. As it turns our our Colombian brothers had their show delayed thanks to Chavez.

Interesting... Madonna OFFICIAL webpage (www.madonna.com ) shows NO date for a concert in Venezuela. There is Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago but no Caracas....Hmmm, Another delusion?

Its truth there is poverty in Venezuela but there are still many people living here can pay for madonna show. I live in Venezuela and I dream about Madonna coming here to visit us, I hope you are not a Venezuela Im not a Chavista but if you are a Venezuelan and you speak this way about your country you dont deserve been Venezuelan.
