Hal and I were Tex and Marie's neighbors/ renters in Campo Ocana, Anaco, from 1996-2003. We lived in their former house after they moved into a retirement apt two doors away. We grew to love them...With many fond memeories, we regretfully wish to inform you of their passing. Marie died of kidney failure at age 97 in the Spring of 2005. Tex passed 90 days or so afterward, also in the Spring, 2005. They had moved to Texas to care for her declining health. Marie is buried in Floresville, Texas. Tex requested that his ashes be dispersed into the Cinaruco river in Apure. We still reside in the old Otis camp in Anaco, and think of them daily at sunset, when we spent the most time together watching the usually magnificent Eastern Venezuela sundown.
