Hey you...YES! Since the media only reports the bad and not the good! We won the war, but since dumb groups wanted to fight against the U.S. in small battles and in eveyone of them we have beaten back the enemy, sure we have had soldiers died, but we have more people die in this country from car accidents and premature deaths we can prevent. You talk trash about the very country that allows you to live in, away from your so-called paradise Venezuela. I wonder what you are going to say when Hugo's time as president is over and he declares some kind of BS emergency even when Obama is the president of this country he will probably have something negative to say about him too.<quoted text>
So you think that the USA is winning the war in Iraq?

I knew you were gonna say that. The USA with the must advance technology in the World and a lot of money is helping Colombia in the fight against the drugs and the FARC right? so how come colombia cocaine production rised 23% in the first semestre of the year and is the biggest producer of cocaine in the world and the USA is the biggest comsumer and some how is Venezuela’s fault. In November 2001, Venezuela was elected chair of the Commission for Drug Abuse Control of the Organization of American States (CICAD), after having served as Vice Chair the year before and hosting the annual meeting of that organization in the Venezuelan capital city of Caracas. Also that year, Venezuela participated in hemispheric efforts to develop its Multilateral Evaluation Mechanism (MEM) to improve counter-narcotics cooperation. In November of 2005, Venezuela hosted the OAS’ First Inter-American Observatory on Drugs, in which more than forty countries participated. During this three-day conference, experts shared their methodological and technical expertise in combating drug trafficking In September of 2006, the Venezuelan government captured Colombia’s second-most wanted narco-trafficker, Farid Feris Domínguez, and immediately handed him over to Colombian officials, Since then, Venezuela has caught and turned over many suspected criminals to Colombian authorities, including the well-known guerrilla leader Gentil Alvis PatinoAdditionally, Venezuela and Colombia have developed a joint eradication program targeting coca, marijuana, and poppy crops in the Perija Mountains along their common border. Known as Operation Sierra, the plan is supported by the UN and the OAS. It has led to the eradication of 110 hectares of poppies, 80 hectares of coca plants, and 15 hectares of marijuana. 18 laboratories of coca-based paste and rural camps containing supplies for the processing of coca leaves have been destroyed. |

More recently, last December, Venezuela acquired new radar systems that enable increased law enforcement patrols and monitoring along the 1400-mile border with Colombia. These new radar systems also fill the gap in coastal surveillance that resulted when the U.S. discontinued radar equipment rentals to Venezuela in 2004. In December 2007, Venezuela held a national vote on a proposed constitutional reform that would have made a large number of changes to the Venezuelan political structure. Among the proposed changes was the elimination of presidential term limits, a change that would have allowed Hugo Chávez to run for reelection in 2012 when his current term ends. While there are many countries in the world that do not have term limits for national leaders, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Germany, and others, the constitutional reform in Venezuela was widely reported in international media as a change that would “make Chavez president for life.” Media outlets called the reform a “power grab” on the part of Chávez, and presented the image of a country “heading toward dictatorship,” when, in reality, Chávez would only be able to continue as the president of Venezuela if he were reelected by the people in national elections. On December 3, 2007, the reform was voted down, and the proposed changes were not made to the Venezuelan constitution. International media reported that Chávez had accepted the results “grudgingly” and only after pressure from the high military command. Military commanders immediately released statements denying that Chávez had been pressured to accept the results, but this went unreported in most international media outlets. What i’m trying to say is that your comments are very acertive only if the media was telling the truth. The biggest problem with Venezuela is the Chavez’s opposition that is willing to destroy Venezuela in order to make Chavez look back, they don’t even have a lider, is the Venezuelan people fighting for power and money and not for a better Venezuela, remember that corruption in Venezuela is a life style, is somenthing that we call EL VIVO and EL GUEVON. El vivo is the one who beats the system and take advantage of it, and el guevon is the honest people. I use to be the vivo ‘till i came to this Country and realize that that’s not the right way |
And ask old, very old, very very old McCain whose missile his jet was shot down by in Vietnam. LOL! |

I see the trend. Venezuela and Iran make statements every other week in order to keep oil prices up. Everything else is a smokescreen. There is no threat from the US to either of those nations. They simply play up some imaginary threat, then the speculators hop on the wave and the common fuel consumer pays out the arse. It's monetary not political.

I think you should stop watching Globovision, it's really damaging your brain |
It was a "very old" Reagan that made the Soviets fall apart! Old or young, we are way ahead of Russia that could not get its Communist system to work in 70 years and still having trouble making the capitalist system work too since many in the government are corrupt and sleazy. What I say about your outrages and idiotic statement? Nyt!!!!! |

Informative read. I however fail to see how it rebutts my statements. Perhaps I should have been clearer? The US Navy not only performs interdiction operation off the already countries, but also on the Pacific side and in international waters. So we are not necessarily "picking on" Venezuela or Columbia. A radar system is fine for drug interdiction purposes but you have to act on the information it provides. Radar does not work on submarines which some drug cartels are using. The US in General does not really care about Chavez or what he says. It's one ended sabre rattling. He was told at a recent conference of South American countries to "shut up" http://www.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idU... The only buttress against dictatorship is an informed and educated society. Chavez will be stopped, not by the U.S. but by the people of Venezuela. |

It is the rethoric that makes a difference. Venezuela has all the rights to modernize its army based on sound strategic and geopolitical decisions. The fact that Colombia has been supported by the US and that it has improved her armed forces should be enough for Venezuela to say, hey, you get 10 choppers, I get 10 choppers. It makes sense from a geopolitical perspective. It also makes sense that Chavez wants to buy from whoever provided he wants. In his case he is stupid to buy from Russia as those super and chopper jets will be shot down by sling shots anyway. But he has the right to do that. Nevermind that there was not a formal process to select a provider that met certain requirements. However, when a president mobilises his armies because a shameful guerrilla leader is rightly killed, when a president constantly talks about war, when a president arms its civilian population, when a president is constantly threatening war; then you have a problem. And you why? because there is no chance he can win that so desired war at least not against the US and in fact not even against Colombia. Chavez government is a disaster, Venezuela continues to live of oil and the goverment continues to push for a stupid utopy. Keep dreaming you will wake up to misery and, if your comandante wants, death. |

The US has sent 25 recon teams into Venezuela in the last 3 months to analyze border defenses and to plot potential targets. The job is done. More than 300 electronic targets have been installed and only wait for missile launch orders. There will not be any need for a single American fighter or bomber to cross any border. Missiles are cheaper and faster.

1 Great answer! Of course, it still does not addresses the issue of the 100,000 people still dead because of Chavez's incompetence, or the 33% inflation, or the political apartheid created by the Tascon List, or hospitals falling down, or the scarcity of basic goods, or the biggest corruption in Venezuela's history, or the given away of our resources to other countries, or the 26 laws by decree the petit tyrant sneaked through, or ... never mind, I am tired. So, should not you be the one perhaps stop reading Granma, Prensa Latina or Aporrea? Of course... comfortably from Miami like most commie hypocrites deffending a monster they would not tolerate 5 seconds in their own backyards. |
Right on dude you got brains..spoken well.forget about those commie lovers, chavez, evo morales,castro..will all burn in the pit.. |

Russian Sukoi's in Venezuela will make great artificial reefs. Russian Sukoi's in the hands of Venezuelan plots are little more than practice for F-22's.
Azz clown Chavez can buy weapons but cannot feed his people ! Clown boy can buy influence and elections in other LA countries but cannot house or educate his people. The Chavez dictatorship has set Venezuela back 20 years behind all their LA neighbors. Fantastic job , Mr. Failure. His days are numbered. |

Like i said before stop watching Globoterror, 100,000 still dead? of corse they're still dead, and nobody can't do anything about it they're dead but i don't really know what are you talking about i've never heard anything about 100,000 dead unless you've been reading the obituaries section in the newspaper. 33% inflation? That one is true, but who control the private sector and the production? the government or the opposition? Hospitals falling down? you got to be kidding Giving away of our resources to other countries? you must be talking about the 4th republic. Do you even know what the 26 laws by decree are about? I don't think so. I don't have to read anything i go to Venezuela every year and i see for myself and i'm not a communist i'm a Venezuelan. |
