And they have plenty of oil. What's wrong with this picture? The oil companies in the u.s. have bribed the politicians for the past 50 years to make sure we're in the mess we're in right now. I hope they realize they can't take that money to Hell with them.

It's a wonder the democrats have not made him an offer to come here... I'm sure they can find some way to get him on the ballot for president.

On a more sad note, we're probably footing the bill for all the new cars.

I think that is a great idea! To better help your people and their gas is 12 cents a gallon.

Things like this does not happen in Amerikka.

It all sounds nice, except Venezuela has HUGE debt that it borrow over the last decade to "socialize" it's economic culture. That debt is due in the next 3 years...

It will be very interesting how President Chavez will pay down the debt. He's subsidized gasoline and now wants to replace cars with those that are more enviromentally correct...

My guess is, if he's still the President, will have to go to the World Banks for money. How ironic would that be?...

OK? Let's just say you own a used car lot...

Mavricks, Conquistadors (Merc Marquis), Big Fords and Chevrolet Impalas, Caprices, V-8 Dodge Darts and the likes.

__________

Chev, Ford, Chrysler ALL have BIG car plants in Valencia. This should put a nice dent in their sales. I would expect these vehicles will be Chinese-made, because Chavez has made many arrangements with them.

Venezuela has been losing money on the sale of gasoline at 0.097 BsF / litre ($0.12/US gal), so if they would export the SAVED GASOLINE at a sale price of $2.50/gal, Venezuela will PAY FOR THE CAR at a rate of ~$4000 / yr !

AND GET RID OF THE BIG-UGLY EYE-SORES !

If the gov't is SMART, they will DESTROY the old cars, thus eliminating all the "spare parts" supply, too !

Chavez has the oil.

China has the demand.

Chavez has been making his
own alliances with Russia,
China, and Iran.

My guess is that he will
simply do an end around the
world bank.

Let me explain,,,,,, everytime you or your fellow Americans buy gas at a CITGO gas station, you are paying money to the Chavez regime. The CITGO oil company is 100% owned by the Venezualan government. Do the research, check the internet, they don't hide the fact. Now do you understand?

Venezuela doesn't have THAT much oil. Besides, China has a HUGE amount of debt due to American investments that have gone south and the overrun costs of the Summer Olympics...

Whether those alliance with Russia, Iran, and China will yield Venezuela the funds necessary to pay the future debt remains to be seen...

So what if I buy gas at Citgo stations.

They are all locally owned. And I pay
the same price, more or less, that I
would at 7-11.

If Chavez wants to give his people free
cars, who cares?

So what is it to you?

It is their country.

Just like Iraq: Iraq belongs to its
citizens, and they want us to leave.
So Deadeye Dick's plan to colonize
Iraq has gone south to the tune of
a trillion dollars.

Venezuela has a HUGE reserve of EXTRA-HEAVY crude (more difficult and costly to refine), and also Natural Gas reserves. His plan is simple, use the CNG in country, and export refined AND un-refined (like he currently does to the US) crude. Venezuela does not have debt, and check the info on China. You don't know the facts, yet have an internet connection. Do some research prior to posting.
_____-____
How do you compare USA National debt to this?

"BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua)-- China's foreign debt reached 373.62 billion U.S. dollars at the end of 2007."

China is a major funder of US debt, holding about $260 billion.

Much of the investment made to host the Olympics will not have a realized return, immediately, but it exceeds $160 billion. It's a small price. It's a BIG country/market. The did a superb job, and definitely "awwed" the world.

Bush has outpaced Chavez,

American has more ownership interest in corporations than Venezuela.
