the fact that 95% of murders in Venezuela go unsolved certainly says something about the lack of diligence on the part of the government there. Likewise the regular shakedowns of citizens by police "roadblocks", the rampant theft and corruption, etc., does NO make Venezuela a good place to visit. FUERA CHAVEZ!

CBS, september 5, 2008 "An estimated 125 pesons were shot and killed in Chicago over the summer. That's nearly double the number of american soldiers killed in Iraq over the same period..." Not only Venezuela, Chicago is not a good place to visit either...

Rampant violence is Latin America's 'worst epidemic' http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/oct/09/m... Who cares about Chicago. Venezuela will do NOTHING in response to this and MOST (95%) slayings. What are stats on Chicago's killings... black drug-related killing black drug-related... GOOD! Compare Chicago's car-jackings to Caracas car-jackings. Compare the killing rate there. Problem? You have no data, you are Chavez-like... yap-yap-yap. Shut up, post fact (exacting), and comparison. And who cares about the bloody US, this is about a FRENCH charter boat captain and Venezuela's crime and inefficiency.

Ark. City neighborhood under 24 hour curfew Helena, West Helena Ark.
Major James Vally said he ordered an emergency curfew and heavy police patrol in a 10 block section of town last week because the neighborhood was "under siege with repeated gunfire, loitering, drugdealing and other general mayhem"

The mass grave ‘La Peste’ is, at the same time, witness and prosecutor of this immeasurable massacre." jordit, why are you so damn blind. WHY do you consistently write so much false information without valid reference. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR IMAGINARY DREAM !(except your lover Huge-Oh, whisper in his ear)

jordit, did you say NEVER... and ONLY, you know... there are doctors that can treat your illness(es). You really need to seek professional help. Oh, and learn to research, before you press POST COMMENT (moron!) Are you the poster child for STUPID Quote from: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html... "The Government also suspended basic civil liberties, including freedom of speech, the right to peaceful protest and the right to free assembly. It also declared a curfew from 6 P.M. to 6 A.M."

Yes, I agree with you, that was in 1992, 6 years before Chavez took the power, there hasn't been any curfew under Chavez government. Precisely Chavez has always fought against the methods used at those black times for venezuelan democracy, not even during the coup against him in 2002 a curfew was imposed... more democratic? Impossible! Thanks Chavez for that!
