The interim government in Fiji is working methodically and trying its level best to return the country to democratic rule. But, they are doing it systematically, so as not to leave anything out, in order to obtain true democracy as it applies only to Fiji, and not the kind of democracy others like Ms. Clark would like Fiji to have.

Ms Clark doesnt have to tell Fiji what to do, she can only request. Fiji government is going to to give the civillian rule when time comes and they are working on it. T o speed up the process she should help and be a real neighbour instead a bully.

Don,do you know why Clark is pushing like thison Fiji? If you remember, before 2000 Fiji`s currency was stronger than NZ. After the upheavels of May 19th, many so called "die hard" Fiji people, especially the ...... ran away to NZ and to show the people back home they are well-off, bought houses under bank loan and did huge investments, which they didn`t do while in Fiji. After that the NZ economy pulled up and defeated Fiji`s dollar. Now, NZ knows as long as there is racial problem in Fiji, people will be migrating to NZ and will contribute to its economy. She knows if the policies in Fiji gets better then migration rate will decrease and her economy will be in trouble.
Everyone has their own agendas, the only difference is the way they show it.
I am all for race free Fiji. The only race I know is the " mouse race" used in Physics and the "human race.

that is bnot right sir , it is not about the dollar values she is concerned , if you look at the economical point and if she was really concerned about fijis economy than she would have intercepted in the 2000 coup. use you logic, if fiji's economic gains power than N.Z dispite being the size, ie land mass will be in a direct challenge with fiji and as a PM she has to make sure the her countrys position should be in dominating status....an example of what will happen if fiji's econoy gains power now, fiji will be like HONG KONG, which will be direct competer with AUSTRALIA AND N.Z.

Yes, Don you got a point. But how can that eventuate where Fiji progress quickly? Should the land owners start utilizing their land wisely rather than keeping it idle and asking for rent on undeveloped land, Ask NLTB to intervene or manage their own land with legal bindings? So many things need to be sorted out.I wonder what was the previous government doing? Any suggestions?

The reason why NZ wants Fiji to speed up the democratic process is because the longer the Military Regime stays in power the worse of Fiji will be in all areas of life, political, economical, socialetc etc etc.Any country with military control is doomed because the people need to control their destiny. Please guys look behind your noses and see the light.
