Joe you sound like an uneducated fool. The indians might live in those squatting settlements, yet they still keep their environment clean. I used to live in LBE and I thought the villages in the Rewa and along the queens road are also squatters kind a settlement only the Fijians called it villages.. To me anything that look ugly is kind a squatter settlement and may be I am wrong about that...yeah! Hummmm ! Bainimarama please do some cleaning up here..May be the Solomons and PNG can come to the rescue as well..really need some big cleaning...

The events in fiji are indeed sad, because of all the pacific countries, they are the only one with a lot of things going their way, economy etc. Yet they keep throwing it away with coup after coup. Last time most ethnic fijians support those coups, now most indofijians probably support the Bainimarama coup.

Solomons and PNG are tough cases. They are struggling with nationhood from day one and are probably going to struggle for much much longer. We (iam solomon) are still to have a uniting leader. we will be very fortunate to have one anytime soon becos the uniting voices are very few and far between. Those voices must come out of guale, western etc but not mala. Ive only heard one such voice (made me shed tears). All else ive heard has been divisive.

I think it is the tremors from those voices and attempts to manage them that are amplified by the media and a cause of much antagonism with the big brothers of NZ and AUST.

when you try to manage/contain a tremor, you will definitely feel the shocks - that i think is what aus and Nz are going through. Are the leaders all corrupt, all stupid, all selfish? I will have to reserve my judgement because i dont know and feel the tremors, I only read the recorded signals on the sydney morning herald, ABC, solomon star, fiji times etc.

peace be with you all
au revoir

Diudas,
Much of what you say is true, but I feel that lumping all Malaitans together is short-sigted.
I have spent much time in Malaita, as well as many other parts of the country, and I believe most Malaitans are not trying to take over or divide the country.
There are several senior Malaitans in Parliament now who have the gifts to unite the country.

I am malaitan and/but malaitans are seen as THE problem (criminality, squattering etc). Therefore whether or not a malaitan has uniting gifts is irrelevant nationally. The uniting force must come from else where, not malaita. Malaitans will also be crucial but as supporting acts not the MAIN ACT.

Are you saying that there is no conflict in other parts of the world who uses the Democracy system.? NO consperacy and all sorts of that crap because it is done by white people acceptable and one Melanesian Countries ganged up together theyare called corrupt. Conflict is part of life Rakesh. There is even conflict in the family, reigious/churhes, tribes, villages, organization you name it. I beive what the Melanesian is trying to do is to learn from the neighbouring Countries New Zealand and Australia. Indigenous peoples are taken way their right by those who calimed to be democratic.

PNG, Vanuatu & Solomon islands are all full of corruption. No wonder they support the interim government. PNG for e.g, theres fighting among the natives every day, one clan against the next, Michael Somare is just sitting high and mighty and the lower class are desperatly in need. They end up eating, cros, deer, dogs etc....so I think before they want to support a interim government, their leaders MUST HELP THEIR PEOPLE FIRST.

I believe you are generalizing about Malaita. Leadership should go back to the Tradiational Leaders of Malaita who lead the Masina Ruru. Not any Tom Dick and Harry. Why the Masina Ruru was successful because the Souther Part of Malaita was the only part in Malaita that have the Tradiational Chiefly System and have kinship which holds them together with the Kuwaio people.

So where are those that were blaimed for Corruption, its 4 months now they have not been charged or taken to court.

Same old trick by those who claimed to be indigenouse and belongs to the Chiefly liniege from the late comers Lutu na Sobasoba. They came, they took and they stayed in the swamppy lands.

FRANK is used by the two EPELI to retain the Lutu na Sobasoba propaganada. Now supported by another group from Nakorotubu in Ra to be linked to the biggest lie.

The Fijians are tied of all the bull shitd from the Lutu na Sobasoba bull shits.

Fijians were in Fiji before Lutu na Sobasoba came. Give it back to the real indigenous Fijians what belongs to them.

Who are these people? If you want to know, they are not connected to VUDA, NAKAUVADRA, VERATA & BAU, NAKUAVADRA

The modern descendants of Maasina Ruru are some of the worst offenders in the stirring up of violence. They are certainly not what most Malaitans would want leading them. Your comment about the Southern part of Malaita seems quite wide of the reality of the situation - are you from Malaita or an expert on Malaita? You seem to have little knowledge of the current sutuation.
Basically the new Maasina movement is a few ambitious people, mostly resident in Honiara, who are not listening to rural Malaitans at all.
