Jerry Bourbon, you are obviously an agitator and nothing you say is relevant. Everyone else should recognize you as the kind of person who looks at internet forums and irrationally disagrees with people for his own amusement. Also, I have a hard time believieng that any powerful nation, European or American, has any concern for South American jobs or economies. They (we) have never helped anybody. Don't believe these unresearched claims.
You should educate yourself sir.

Concerned citizen, where did you learn the fine art of whining? You do it so well. Do you always whine with people who disagree with you? Per my original content, the idea of a German of all people accusing the US of environmental degradation is ludricous. Furthermore, having spent time in both Fray Bentos and Gualeguaychu, I am well aware that this dispute has very little to do with environmental concerns, Jorge Busti, the Governor of Entre Rios was sucking up big time to Botnia to get the plant in his province. It has quite a bit to do with the anti-capitalist Argentin limosuine liberals not wanting "globalization" to benefit Uruguay. My smpathies are with Uruguay.

The grand opening is coming. I have wondered this whole mess since it started. Argentina is like a baby at the negative stage: It cries and doesn't want to negotiate. Fray Bentos is the ideal location for a pulp mill, when taking considered the environment, wood raw material and pulp logistics as well as socio-economic impacts to the region. Argentina disagrees based on political issues. Did you know that Botnia has also offered to treat the domestic sewage from the city of Fray Bentos in the mill's effluent treatment plant. So, what does it mean? Clearly it means that Rio Uruguay will be cleaner when the mill starts to produce pulp :)

This is not about the pollution, it is about Argentina not getting the biggest foreing investment in the continent. Finland is not only the cleanest country in the world, but also the one with less corruption.
By the way, Uruguay, after Chile, is the country with less corruption in Latin America according to transparency.org , while Argentina is almost at the end of that list.

Dear Nick,
I'm from Argentina, Buenos Aires now living in Los Angeles, Ca. I have relatives in Uruguay (Fray Bentos) so I think I can talk about this issue.

My relatives in Uruguay told me that "las Canas" that used to be a beautiful beach when I was a little kid, is now all dirty. Uruguay is a very tiny Country with no industry at all and the only resource is tourism, especially rich Argentinians going for vacations every single year to Punta del Este.
You Uruguayans need us because without us you are nothing.
Argentinians are very concerned about pollution, of course with have more pollution that Uruguay and Chile!!! because we a a huge Country and we are receiving ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS from Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Peru that love to come to Argentina for one reason or another. So please, STOP TALKING BAD ABOUT MY COUNTRY. ok?
Thanks.

The truth is:
1. Argentina and Uruguay have always been rivals and behave like kindergarten kids. A shame.
2. Argentina cannot care less for the environment.
3. Argentina should learn more from the civilized countries and shut up.
4. Finland is at the top of the list on environmental issues. Finland is at the top of the list of the less polluted countries.
5. European countries are civilized and live in harmony. They don't have bad talks about any country. Not even about countries in South America.
6. Argentina loves to critize everybody (other countries)-Argentinians think that makes them be better when actually they are nothing.

I have an Argentinian passport and I'm ashamed of it and all what it means. I have the right then to say what I say.--

Gloria says: "You Uruguayans need us because without us you are nothing."

You Gloria, stop talking bad about other countries if you want other people to stop talking bad about yours.

I'm not from another country, UNFORTUNATELY, so you can't shut me up.
You are a clear example of what I just wrote on the previous post.

And no, Argentina and the Argentinians don't care a bit about the environment/ They don't even recycle. They just pollute and pollute.

Funny you say Argentina is polluted because it's receiving illegal immigrants. LOL I wonder how that influences pollution.

If Argentina would change the law and would have a strict migration system there wouldn't be illegal immigrants. Don't blame the illegal immigrants, again, the only responsible for that is Argentina.

If YOU allow strangers to come into your house without permision who is responsible for it? Who is responsible for what they do in your house? YOU! ONLY YOU!--
