I completely agree with Laurin!
Montevideo is beautiful and the people the nicest I have met in my trips to South America!

Thanks and regards.

My wife and I are headed to Montevideo in February for a vacatio (also crossing to Argentina). This article is very encouraging! We are looking forward to our visit. Very few people comment on the interior of Uruguay, I've noticed. I wonder if it is simply because it is not flashy like Punto del Este (?).

I lived in the interior of Uruguay, in the city of Rivera which borders Santana do Livramento, Brazil. I am always amazed that it is seldom mentioned. The only thing dividing the 2 cities is a street! It's a very pleasant town, with friendly people and easy shopping.
