Most of those of Asian origin in this country came before Labour came to power.

billy was one off the crack takers and sellers, him and his gang have ruined the small community of elland, he's been in trouble with the police more times than he has had hot dinners. him and his brother were the ones that provoked the attack,by attacking and threatening an ill 50 year old man!!! him and his brother bit off more than they can chew.....

When I lived in this town, it was a sleepy English village where the Asian community lived in harmony with its native residents.

England provided me with a lot of opportunities that I may not have got elsewhere, and for that I am eternally grateful. I am from Pakistan originally, and nearly 10 years ago I moved out of Elland. I am living in New York, but still have great admiration for the English. I frequently visit and it will always be my home, I am British of Pakistani descent.

Lets not stereotype everyone from a particular race into the same crowd. Sometimes when you have been hurt in someway it is easy to do this, but the Pakistani community when I lived there typically kept to themselves and underscored the values of many of the older residents.

It’s a sad state of affairs when drugs, and the crime that it brings takes over a town. But I can tell you, not every Pakistani you meet on the streets is taking or dealing drugs. Just like not every white caucasian male is dealing or taking drugs.

The problems of drugs and crime are prevalent across all races and tend to be concentrated in areas where the average income is below the national average and the number of university educated youngsters always leaves much to be desired.

This stabbing has nothing to do with race, we are in the 21st century where every race is prone to drugs and crime, and no matter what the colour of your skin, it can affect you. Its is blissfully ignorant to ignore the deeper problems.

Most of the drugs on the streets are imported from Afghanistan via Pakistan, the huge amounts of money involved have made gang culture a big part of life in Elland and surrounding towns and cities, shootings and stabbings happen almost daily and the streets are full of unemployed young men driving blacked out Range Rovers and BMWs.

Am not sure that all the drugs actually come from them, but that is beside the point. My point was that you can’t make this into discussion about race as there are crimes regarding drugs committed by all races.

An example, Columbia is worlds largest cocaine producer, that does not mean that every Columbian you meet either deals or takes cocaine. You just can’t paint everyone of a particular race with the same brush. If that is your view, then there is no point in this discussion as you have already made up your mind.

People really need to look deeper into the problems that face the people that take drugs and the reason why people turn to selling them. This could be anything from a lack of education to a lack of jobs. The police need to do more and crack down on drug crime and make the punishments harsher as a deterrent, while parents of children who take drugs need to do more in educating them and be responsible for that.

I said MOST not ALL! people do need to look deeper into the problem, but that doesnt detract from the fact that in the Bradford Halifax and Elland areas most drug importing and dealing is done by young men of Asian descent, along with social remedies to tackle the problem we desperatly need realistic punishments, to get as many offenders as possible out of action.

AGREED.... the 2 brothers told the farooq family they would be back with tools later in the day... how far would you go to defend your family ?? i bet not 1 house or car will be burgled in elland while the funeral is on (FACT)

i no Kay and billy the day b4 billy got stabbed kay was helping billy push a trailer up the road. They where both good friends. This happend coz billy asked kays uncle to get some stuff out of his rented apartment kays uncle said no and they both started arguing. This corzed kays uncle to go out and stab billy and kay to be caught up in it all. i no them both this wasnt about drugs! and kay souldnt be sent down 4 murder coz it waz his uncle!

This is not true as the house did not belong to kays uncle, it had nothing ot do with him, Billy was ennoyed that he had been evicted form the house, so he took it out on a 50 year old man, he even threatened the man and his family in front the police saying that he will be back, these were decnet men trying to protect their family.

i agree the streets of elland are quiet, but peole in elland will know what his gang are like, more people need to stand up to them, or they will be destroying a much loved small town,

Kay an his uncle were good people an i know they wouldn't have done it for no reason. The guy who got killed i do not know but i know the crew who he hung around with an they are always fighting amongst themselves, i seen one guy hitting his pregnant sister shouting out 'have ya lost the baby yet'. it makes me sick, and what do the police do, sit in their comfort zone drinking tea and coffee. I blame the police, government and the parents.

Yeahhh, anyone can think whatever you want to think. I saw the entire thing happen, due to the fact I live 10 seconds away from Billy.
Billy was a really decent guy, and so was Kashan, Billy broke back into his flat because the landlord wouldn't let him get his stuff. Then everyone took it a lil' too far, a man died. And Eufi (Billys brother) is still in hospital after he got stabbed too.
The entire race thing that's going on is because all the muslims walked outside the mosque and started laughing about it, saying "The bastards deserved it, and I hope they're both dead".
3 cars have been smashed, Kashans family has been moved away, and the mosque has had to pay to protect it's windows from bricks & bombs.
I think people need to stop trying to act the alpha male and just get along for once, the chavs are ridiculous (Sorry to stereotype, but anyone that lives in Elland won't disagree) & the amount of rascism about is unbelievable, and no, it's not just the whites, the asians are just as bad.
