Now imagine instead of a baseball bat the homeowner used a shotgun. A baseball bat you can make the argument that its not a lethal weapon even tho the man died from it. A gun is a lethal weapon...when you pull the trigger you decide to end someones existence! If you shoot someone dead that is in the process of crawling in your window you are going to jail in MA...end of story.
If he has a weapon drawn, if he's in your bedroom with a weapon, if he's got you by the throat, then it will only cost you $10,000-100,000 in legal fees and you won't go to jail (in MA).
For the record, I think MA should be like TX with a gun under every pillow and thugs know they have a 50/50 change of meeting their maker each time they rob a house.

Who knows what a person would do while breaking into your home!? They could be there because they are a crackhead looking for loose change or something they can sell. They could be a rapist or a murderer. I'm not going to wait until he makes the attempt before fighting back. No one breaks into MY home.
