Look at the london stock exchange. Look up wos. Wolseley has lost a ton of money In one year. Now that the AMERICAN housing market is down, why would a BRITISH company want anything to with SBS. A company that sales are down 25%. Cost 204 Million to operate. I hope SBS gets sold. ASAP.

Some of you seem to think that all of Stock Building Supply's resources are directly tied to new construction of production and multi-family housing. We do a tremendous amount of business in the custom home and remodel sectors as well, and guess what? People with money don't care about your dire predictions.....they are out there spending it, lots of it with Stock. How do all you nattering nabobs of negativity look at yourselves in the mirror evry morning without cringing? Buck up, life is beautiful, do yourself, your employer and the economy a favor and go sell something!

THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT STOCK IS SELLING FOR LESS THAN COST. THIER QUOTES ARE 30 TO 40% BELOW MARKET EVEN ON CUSTOM WORK. WHAT COMPANY IN THIER RIGHT MIND WOULD BUY THIS COMPANY WHEN IT IS LOSING A QUARTER OF A BILLION A YEAR? WAIT FOR IT TO GO BELLY UP AND PICK IT UP FOR PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. BETTER YET, I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR THE EUROPEAN OWNERS. I HAVE A PLAN TO CUT YOUR LOSSES IN HALF. 1) SHUT ALL STATESIDE OPERATIONS DOWN. 2) SEND ME A CHECK FOR $125 MILLION. POOF!!! YOU JUST CUT YOUR LOSSES IN HALF.

As a former employee of Stock I can truthfully say that they are hurting and it's there own fault. I watched things being sold below cost time and time again. The decisions they make would raise eyebrows in any company and the daily decisions only get crazier by the minute.

Jim, you talk about helping the economy. Who's economy do you think you are helping by purchasing from SBS. Oh ya it's owned by Woseley a foreign company. Try helping the U.S. economy by getting stuff from an American owned company. Pro Build, HD supply, and BFS. Wow those are the three compaines in the article who could buy SBS.

Now you know that's just silly, don't you. All the Stock and Ferguson employees earning a living and paying taxes here in the good ol' US of A are helped every time someone pruchases from Stock. Your arguement is ludicrous, sir.
