I am not pushy. You do not have to give the 50.000 if you don't want. I do not insist if the answer is no. I can get then 49.000, and I'll be fine. |

Good boy! And yet you are not greedy and spoiled, an overindulged fellow. Keep it going and never depart from yourself. Besides, I have almost always found Portuguese to be kind, nice and sympathetic. Accept my best wishes, Joao! |
The UK should also subsidies your education, idiot, learn to spell, WTF is;- -SUPSERDISED -GOVERMEMRNT and Jesus Christ use grammar and know when to use capital letters. And it's not POLL....it's Poles, or Pole. Ass wipe. |

Ass wipe - exactly as it is written ; you‘ve just taken it from my mouth!. It’s hard to believe! But, Aurelius, the point is that the British Government is keen on bringing-up an illiterate flock (able only to read on a wrapping of “Mars”-bar) for the purpose of convenience for more efficient ruling with the Orwellian farm. Meanwhile, a visionary lunatic of the name of Gordon Brown will announce you that (cit.):“education is my concern”! Can you believe?!! |

Man, are they all like you in Bolton? No wonder we need the Poles; at least most of them speak and write proper English!!! |
So ALL Poles are like that? You sound like you are prejudice against Poles. |

The issue is not about the Polish but about corruption, corporate greed and using the cheapest labour available.

City Scum, You raise an interesting point. If you make a free market economy, define the boundaries, free labour and information, de-restrict the market but apply sound rules of behavior and standards ... which are all the things that the EU is doing, the potentially it is a good thing. Over a period of time, costs should even out and lost opportunities in one place, should be replaced by new opportunities else where. However, it is also a test of the fittest and the most mobile. Britain being free up by Margaret Thatcher should have the advantage over most other Europeans who have been held back by socialist thinking. Moving beyond Europe, the internationalisation of business can also bring in people from beyond the controlled market that is Europe. In this case the potential for really cheap labour does exist, and that hits hard without any future payback. For example Mexican immigrants in the USA are severely reducing the ability of the indigenous population to compete. Here for sure, greedy corporations, or greedy firms may well benefit to the detriment of the people. In this kind of situation, in the USA for example, many prefer to allow the government to pay out welfare benefits to keep the general population alive, while the companies are exploiting the cheapest possible labour and maximising their profits any which way - sending work overseas, using tax loop holes, pulling government grants, bribing government administrators and inspectors. What happens is that the middle classes pay high taxes to keep the unemployed in welfare and this has the effect of creating two tiers of society - the very wealthy and the poor. What are your own personal experiences? |

Eric, please be a good boy and put that nasty gun down. What you need to do is be good at your job, work hard and be pleasant to people. That goes a long way and makes people like you. Once they like you, they may employ you. That's the general way of things in Britain. Always has been. Manchester and Liverpool are getting very bad reputations for gun crime. Where are the guns coming from? Why is ot so bad there? Who's putting those sort of ideas in kids' heads? |
Maybe if you got off your pen-pushing, patronising backside and out of your bedroom you will discover the answer. |

No, not most of them. I've met many Poles who couldn't speak any English. I am not blaming them. That happens in all the countries.(My own English is not that good, f.ex.) However, having so many people who cannot spell properly in his own native language is clearly a sign of substandard education. But the British can still make good blue colour workers though. They work hard. |

Most of the Poles I meet here, from waiters to car mechanics, from office workers to cab drivers speak reasonably good English and are quite intelligible. I suspect that secondary education in Poland is superior to the same in England. Plus they do learn foreign languages whilst our kids don't! JoaoP, I think you meant "blue collar workers", not blue colour workers. You meant manual workers, didn't you? |

Did you meet them in England? Then it's normal that they can speak good English. Yes, usually they have a good/fair level of education. At, least comparing to me, their English is good. Indeed, I meant blue collar workers. ooops!... |
