I had just finished reading an article about how a grip-tite (or whatever it is called) tool company is laying off everyone and moving production to China. |

Vise-Grip...and that was was US-based, not UK. For a long time, I've thought that we needed a Sputnik-like kickstart in our science/math curriculum nationwide. These types of manufacturing jobs are likely to never return, but if we don't ready ourselves, we'll never be in a position to replace them with the innovative jobs of the future. With the Chinese financing most our debt, we're going to have to really start to innovate if we want to maintain our place as an economic work leader. |
