It's nice to know they're putting our money to good use.

What a dumb *** for paying 2.7 million on a camel. He should have used the money on something that the Country needs money for and not P*ss it away on some spitting animal that will end up on the dinner plate after he gets spit on.
Dubai way of business is different...When they invest in something..thay also know how to reap.
People ( European and Indians ) are buying one sq feet of land to the tune of $100..in a desert,(Dubai)...because they have added value to it.
Did you ever reasoned why some one is investing so much money here in Dubai...when he can buy lush green land in his own home town..

WTF are you talking about? They also know how to "reap"?

Work on the English (mr. expert on the western financial system) or stop posting to the internet when you're drunk. Isn't that against the Koran anyway?

He could have saved 2.6 mil by buying Elliot Spitzer girlfriend. Poor camel is going to be used the same way. One hump or two.

I must be living the wrong life. My kids wanted things like new bikes and rollerblades for their birthdays. Heck, some birthdays came and went with just a cake and a song because the ends weren't there. And just think, our sons and daughters are fighting for our freedom in a world where these kids get million dollar camels for gifts. Who's the chump now? Thanks George!

Time for a political science lesson.

Dubai may be in the same region of the world as Iraq and Afghanistan, but it's one of the seven United Arab Emerites, and a totally different government with very different human rights policies than those where we're fighting the wars.

The country's revenues are from trade, manufacturing and financial services; less than 6% of their economy is from petroleum and natural gas. Most of their laborforce is foreign, including many from the U.S. I have a friend whose husband has worked there and another friend who has been there as a tourist. It is not Iraq or Iran. Both say the country is beautiful and the people are warm and wonderful.

And I guess the camels are pretty nice, too!
