It's a big scam. But it does prove Central Planning fails.

You can learn the DuBai thing by buying a 7/11 franchise in America.

And the best whore countries are formed slowly and naturally. Ask the Bush/Walker family.

{It's possible all that exploited labor could become the recipient of all that soon to be worthless junk.} What goes around, comes around.

People go to work in Dubai of their own free will. Most people make more money and pay less tax.

MY FAMILY LIVED IN DUBAI IN THE 1970/80,S. IT WAS A SMALL PLACE COMPARED TO WHAT I AM READING ABOUT NOW. THE CHILDREN WENT TO AN AMERICAN SCHOOL IN JUMERIAH AND THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST PROVIDED STUDY MATERIAL FOR CHRISTIANS AND CLASS WAS HELD AT THE SCHOOL ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLACE AND MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN WOULD LIKE TO RETURN THERE TO SEE THE CHANGES.

Hi all, Do your research and gather the facts before you travel and or invest in Real Estate in any foreign country. Laws and rulls very from state to state even in the US. So it's understandable that Dubai and it's location will have it's laws and the people will see things differently. Be careful, don't just jump into any situation and avoid posible conflict and trouble by educating yourself. Also try to contact others who have been there and or invested there and make a decision based on all of that. Certainly I would not want to go to Dubai if the population in the heart of the popular areas or the surrounding areas have negative feelings about Jewish people in general or if they despised Americans. Who needs that! I have heard it is beautiful there and many of the wealthy purchase property. Not sure if any of them are Jewish though. Anyway, good luck, peace and happy new year.

HAHA! you must be a fool! do you mean to tell me that 80% of the top Fortune 500 companies (according to forbes) which set up shop in dubai ONLY picked NON-JEWISH delegations to go there and do business? that would be funny, you know, at the Merrill Lynch office in downtown chicago- "UM, ANY NON-JEWS WHO'D LIKE TO PARTAKE IN A PROJECT IN DUBAI, PLEASE STEP FORWARD." rrriiigghhhttttt, dubai seems really hostile to me. thats why 80% OF AMERICAN FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES RUN TO DUBAI TO DO BUSINESS
and also, there's christians in all arab countries except saudi arabia. just ask the assyrian population in chicago which have churches established all across the middle east. also, saudi arabia is holy land. would you allow muslims to move into jewish settlements in the west bank? I DONT THINK SO. the real estate is restricted buddy. for the so called "chosen ones"
i live in Dubai...there are several Catholic churches there...but the rumors about Jew not being allowed in the country may be true because I have never met a Jew during the 19 years I have lived there...

Dubai modern? Just because they put up some gleaming towers with slave labor and snort coke doesn't make them modern any more than snorting coke and sucking oil out of the ground with western technology makes the barbarians in Saudi
Arabia modern.
What a joke.

I was looking at a leg of a Cunard world cruise which ended in Dubai. As a Jew I was worried, not about a stay at a hotel there, but about my exiting the country safely. I spoke with one of the cruise representatives and he said that they will really try to help me leave the country without any problems. That sounded to me like there are some situations concerning Jews in Dubai. Needless to say, I booked a different cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Ive travelled to dubai twice in 3 years and they are the most memorable travels of my life. Dubai is a lovely place and everyone is friendly because everyone is in the same boat generally. people working hard for bucks for a better life and future. Locals are very generous and caring and expats are hospitable. dubai is beautiful. godbless the place and everyone in it.

the only problem with Dubai is that there is still the islamic issue.. its in the persian gulf.. that is the biggest problem it faces.. You can not have a modern city in the middle of islamic people.. they dont mesh very well.. Muslims are about 2000 years behind the rest of the modern world.. this city itself only comprises of 30% natives.. the rest are all slave laborers or westerners.

In Dubai, you can do anything you would do in Florida, its not like Saudi Arabia and the Shariah laws they live by.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but if you break the law in ANY country, you'd suffer consequences.
Chuck- you are 100% on the money.
Except have sex on the beach lol, 2 americans were arrested recently for this, after having been warned earlier even. I was surprised at how diplomatic the government there was. Of all muslim countries Dubai is one that would actually like to see. I saw the special on TV about the man made islands off the coast and of the indoor skiing at the mall ect, looks like the jewel of the middle east if you ask me. Oh and p.s. All great accomplishments are made on the backs of laborers, just ask the mexicans here in America :)

Shiny skyscrapers don't make a city modern. Just new.

It's still a barbaric culture from the 14th century.

You can keep it. I'll take Democracy and old cities any day. If I want to go to Church I can find one.

Dubai will crumble.
