Yulka is trying so hard to get away with it.
It looks like, not even her supporters from EU might help much.
After all, she lives much better in jail than at home for what we already had seen.
Clean sheets, doctors standing by, color TV, radio..what more does she wants ?

Yulka will remain locked up while her assets are being frozen as we speak. Another assets if she has any will not help. Prosecutor says she is too saggy to get released by using her body.

What a silly bunch of posts. It is assumed that Yanu and his trained judges will continue to keep Yuli out of action. Eveything else I see posted is just the usual insults and hatemongering.

Anyway-- a belated Merry Christmas to those of Western faith and an advnce one to those of Eastern Orthodoxy.

Suggested policy to improve the Topix Forum: When it comes to Pissy, The Fish-faced Finn, Comrade Cassandra, or Uther (the Four Topix Stooges)-- don't read, don't rate, don't respond. They do not have anything of substance to say anyway. It will drive them crazy to think that their "Pearls of Wisdom" are falling in empty space (if they even have the brains to realize that nobody gives a big rat’s behind what they say).

WASHINGTON — The United States on Tuesday urged Ukraine to free former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko after she lost an appeal against her seven-year jail sentence on charges of abuse of power.

The US State Department said it was "disappointed" by the Ukrainian court's ruling, adding that Tymoshenko and other former government officials who are in detention should be able to participate fully "in political life."

Tymoshenko, the leader of the 2004 Orange Revolution, was sentenced in October for abuse of power while prime minister in a case that was launched just months after she lost a close election to President Viktor Yanukovych.

Her sentence was upheld on Friday.

State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner said "the United States was disappointed that the Kiev Court of Appeals upheld the conviction of Yulia Tymoshenko on December 23."

Washington was also disappointed that the court "did not address concerns about democracy and rule of law raised in the initial trial and sentencing," Toner added.

"We urge the government of Ukraine to free Mrs Tymoshenko and the other former government officials currently in detention," Toner said.

"We believe that they should have an unrestricted ability to participate fully in political life, including next year's parliamentary elections," he said.

Late last year, the Ukrainian authorities detained Tymoshenko's former environment minister, interior minister and deputy justice minister. Commentary : Secretary of State Clinton, Obama and the whole USA has an eye on those four outdated despots. When they draw the ire of the USA... there will be economic consequences. You watch and see. All four of those despots may just be flushed down the toilet.

Yes the begining of the end for Putin is just aound the corner. Medvedev will not be able to stand alone. New blood is coming to Russian politics.

Yanukovich's support has plunged from 35% to 13% durring his term. He is a gonner as well.

Unfortunately it won't be easy to despose Putin, he has fixed it so that he will remain in power for many years. Yanukovich's days are definitely numbered though.
