Ukraine denies giving military aid to Georgia
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry categorically denied on Friday that Ukrainian military experts are helping to rebuild Georgia's army communications network, damaged in a five-day conflict with Russia.
Deputy chief of the Russian General Staff, Col. Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn said on Thursday that a British non-governmental organization was training Georgian explosive experts, and Ukrainian specialists were helping install an army communications network in Georgia.

Dear maze, I understand you pain, but how is it connected to post?
an d believe me, majority of georgians and ukrainians are proud to be friends of americans.

And proud to arm a nation that "milosevic's" another territory, all for the sake of making sure that they stay on the good side of Washington. Nato policy was to bomb Belgrade, not arm them. |

Neofascist Putinist Russian barbarity needs to be challenged....
Putin is now so isolated diplomatically that he had to solicit support from his old enemy Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus. The world immediately saw through Moscow's ploy, in contrast to Kosovo's declaration of independence earlier this year which attracted widespread support, despite being in contravention of international law. Tomorrow, EU leaders meet at a special summit amid contradictory reports as to whether trade sanctions against Russia will be on the table, although it seems unlikely to be imposed on one of Europe's most important suppliers of oil and gas. Putin has pre-empted the meeting by accusing the US of engineering the Georgia crisis as an election ploy, a claim which deserves about as much serious consideration as his insulting remarks about the murder of Politkov-skaya. Ghastly as the Bush administration is, it cannot be blamed for every single thing that happens in the world and there is no evidence that it either wanted or precipitated this crisis, which has prompted anxious discussion about a new cold war. On the contrary, it has exposed the limits of American force, which cannot realistically be used to get the Russians out of Georgia or to defend the next former Soviet republic, probably Ukraine, on which the Kremlin sets its sights. Anxiety levels are bound to have risen dramatically since Friday, when the Kremlin announced its intention of eventally absorbing South Ossetia into Russian territory. EU leaders also have limited room for manoeuvre, but they should be clear in their condemnation of Russia's return to its old habit of bullying its neighbours. The argument for holding the country at arm's length might be achieved by suspending talks on a new strategic pact and barring Russia's high-powered delegation from the Council of Europe. What the EU must not do is accept the pernicious argument that it has a special right to intervene in the states which share its borders. Two days ago, Human Rights Watch announced that satellite images showed that ethnic Georgian villages in South Ossetia had been torched, revealing "compelling evidence of war crimes and grave human rights abuses". This is exactly what Russian troops did in Chechnya and it reveals the ugly face of Putin's Russia, an extreme nationalist and expansionist state which Anna Politkovskaya died to expose. http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commenta... |

Because Canada is a joke. Canada is a self-governing dominion of the British Crown and the Canadian Parliament requires Royal Assent from the Queen before it is passed into law. Bank of England through Bank of Canada controls the Canadian Parliament. Canada is a slave plantation working in the best interests of the British Crown not the interests of Canadians. |

Yes, the Ukrainians are the stupid ones if they think anyone will believe them when they claim they didn't provide weapons to Georgia which were used in the senseless slaughter of Russian peacekeepers and South Ossetian civilians while they slept. Those nice Ukrainian sniper rifles also came in handy in preventing parents of injured children from coming out of their basements to get medical help. Also the advanced anti aircraft weapons were also very effective against Russia as they drove the evil Georgian army backed by the U.S. and Israel out of South Ossetia and prevented further genocide. Your beloved Viktor Yuschenko stood beside Saakasvilli and supported the slaughter of the Russian peacekeepers as well as the South Ossetians. Your right, the bear is now awake. Be careful, be very careful. |

1 You poor naive fool! Don't you know that Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International and other NGO's are heavily 'INFLUENCED' by the US State Department, the CIA and British intelligence? I guess you're too ignorant to notice how these organizations have selectively omitted atrocities committed by the Bush administration in Iraq or by the EU in Serbia. Grow up and smarten up, this is not that like the days of the cold war where you believe anything a so-called "Human-rights" organization says because in those days the Soviet Communist System really was brutal to its own people and to Eastern European Satellites. Have you examined the Human Rights watch organization? Do you know where they get their funding from? How do you know that they are telling you truth? Where do you get off giving them so much crediblity? Have you run an audit of their financials?, have security checks been done of their management to see if they work for intelligence agencies? NO you can't answer Yes to any of these questions. So stop quoting them You Imbecile. |

From 1914 to 1945 America tried to stay out of the affairs of Europe. We were extremely isolationist. What did it get us? We were dragged into two World Wars of horrifying brutality. Millions upon millions of soldiers, and civilians, littered the battlefields from Normandy to Stalingrad. Since American involvement in Europe, there has been over 60 years without such wars. You Western Europeans, and Canadians, have become spoiled through American power. Now you snap at us for protecting all of you. I have more respect for the Russians sometimes than some of our allies. I'd love to pull the American military back to America. But then we'd have to go back and fight again. Until your countries show some political/military will to go it alone you are "stuck" with us defending you. |
