Ukraine's unilateral cuts to natural Gas imports from Russia to 27 BCM are the only message that the Kremlin understands. Russia could learn a thing about supply and demand. No demand means no supply means no re-election for Putinsky. Coal, shelf gas, deep sea gas and oil, LNG, Nuclear. Ukrainians get rid of the monkey off your back.

You are so right. The sooner Ukraine becomes free of dependence on Russia for energy the better. The right process was started when the previous administration started changing the non-nuclear electric plants from gas to coal. Let us not hear a lot of crocodile tears from the eco-nazis about pollution. It is entirely possible to run a coal fired plant with very little emissions. Often the things removed by exhust "srubbing" turn out to be the precursors of saleable chemical products All it takes is lttle ingenuity instead of ecological whining.

Dare I say the obvious ???? Ukrainian( mostly Ukrainian Jewish )Oligarchs are in a "pissing match" with Russian ( mostly Russian Jewish Oligarchs) over gas pipelines in Ukraine and Russia and .... you guessed it,over money.Soon the Oligarchs there will all move to England where in the courts they will fight over power and profits with egadd....!!!! English Lawyers, who will skin both sides alive with costly procedures and will take all the money from both sides. Yes, we know what to do in the UK, with these types !!! The ordinary people in Ukraine and Russia, have nothing to do with all these shenanigans and are simply political pawns in the Oligarchic fight over power and money. The Russian and Ukrainian leaders are both installed and controlled by the Oligarchs in both countries. Same old story..... continues.

Business without laws is the Mafia. Business with laws is democratic capitalism. The fight over Ukraines gas pipelines is on the surface capitalism but in reality the players are all Mafia based. Strategically no country is willing to lose energy security to another. The Ukrainian pipelines are a battle between good(people of Ukraine), the mafia(Yanus gang) and true evil (restoring Russian empire). By reducing gas imports Ukraine forces Russia to reconsider their position. There is no way to force Ukraine to take and pay for gas that they do not want. In the past 300 years Russia always imposed her will on Ukraine militarily. Take this off the table and the odds slant towards Ukraine.

Question: Why hasn't Russia shut off the gas yet? Answer: It is not cold enough to make such a move effective as a form of blackmail. Wait, when the time is right Putin will try the hole card again. This time it will not work but he does not realize it. Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. Sound like Putin? Of course. But then nobody ever said that wesels were known for their intelligence or sanity.
