Its extremely desirable that both the nuclear powers and neighbours build measures to improve friendly neighbourly relations with each other. However when it comes to TAPI, there are other actors apart from the Afghan govt and Turkmenistan govt, who can spoil the whole project i.e the afghani taliban and pakistani taliban. Pakistani taliban are more concentrated in border areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan where the gas pipeline is to be stretched. This fact cannot be ignored if India and Pakistan would like to get benefited from TAPI project. Further Turkemenistan with its corrupt administration cannot be considered a reliable business partner. By getting fed up with Turkmenistan's corrupt officials, many foreign companies just terminated their business operations and left turkmenistan such as numerous Turkish firms and even Oil Giant Bridas. Given the fact that the Pakistani govt. could not effectively control the pakistani taliban, a spoiler in the game and extremely corrupt administrations of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan , the TAPI seems to be a disaster. It would have been far better to invest on IPI (Iran pakistan India) gas pipeline. UN has not banned any investment in oil and gas sector of Iran yet. India being a friendly country to Iran could get far more better a deal with Iran than with Turkmenistan.
