The Turks were the first people to bring coffee to Europe. Austria was the first place they brought it when their army surrounded Vienna in 1683. The Ottoman Turks got coffee from Yemen in the late 15th century in the period of Suleiman the Magnificent and opened the first coffeehouses in Istanbul. That marked the beginning of the Turkish coffee tradition. If we take a deeper look at today’s daily life, we can see that the image of coffee drinking has changed a lot. There is now world-wide competition between coffee brands.
