. But GCs died at the hands of TCs and Turks so its not one sided so both sides have blood on their hands.
So according to your philosophy then you would agree,
1) The Karabakh should become an independent state.
2) Bosnia should be partitioned into Serb, Croatian and Bosnian states.
3) Eastern Libya should break away from Western Libya.
4) Iraq should split into Kurdistan, Sunni Iraq and Shia Iraq.
And do not think that the secularity of the state of Turkey is not under threat. Before Mr Erdogan calls for the overthrow of Mr Assad, and arming the rebels for the US, you should ask what will replace him in case the tide of fundamentalism starts to lap at the borders of Turkey.
Is Erdogan an Islamist or a Kemalist and what whould Mr Ataturk make of this situation in Turkey?
Your examples make no sense. Cyprus is divided for many years and there are right now two separate de facto governments in the island. Oguz is right on the money. Nowhere else in the world the West is pushing towards uniting two already separate nations into one, two nations that have much historical animosity who do not want to live with each other. Turks do not want to live with Greeks. Neither do Greeks want to live with Turks, Greeks are only after land! The West is hypocrite and until now has put all his weight behind Christian Greeks against Muslim Turks. But Western views don't matter. Turks do not want to be with Greeks in Cyprus and they won't. The sooner Greeks give up with their futile dreams of taking over whole Cyprus, the better for both communities.

Infact Greece is a Religion-State by it's constitution like Iran ,Israel and Saudi Arabian Kingdom..
See Mr.PM 's sworn ceremony.
How can a man of religion can confirm a politician's oath in a modern secular ruling system?
Greekness became like Jewishness...Religion and race united in a idiotic concept .
This concept never release the souls free ..
This makes Greeks ""Klephtocrats, live them in Philotimian world of idioticity and Lazyness ""
Greeks have no future if they get rid of CHURCH from tgheir daily lives .

----------

Coming from a Moslem Turk, this can only be taken as a very bad joke. But then again Oguz always writes jokes. He is the joker of the pack.
It is clear that in his last line above, he suggests that Greeks should never get rid of the church from their daily lives. Or is it his english again?

There is no doubt that the Greek Orthodox religion plays a very important role in the lives of its people.

Take it easy, Oguz. The guy is American and doesn't understand the difference between "nationality" and "ethnic".

All of those he mentioned are presumably Americans whose ancesters came from other countries. Americans just don't "get it" and rather than say their grandfather was born in Grease will instead say, "I'm Grease".

Perhaps "Greek" will now admit that he's an American and not Grease.

This is very true.

However, my ex father-in-law was a Captain in the Swedish UN forces and although he was pro-GC before he went he soon realized that the "good guys" were the TC. I didn't believe him and when I went to Cyprus I also had pro-Greek (pro-Christian) feelings but after visiting both the north and the south I came to realize that it's the Turks/TC's who really are the "good guys".

Knowledge is the only way to understanding.

The "source" dear is very important.i.e. trying to learn History from a....... Turkish History book!!
I understand that you have got the story from the Turkish side. Did you also get it from the Greek side or you found the Turkish story enough?
Another way is to spend time with the people and not let your personal adventures infect or in any way alter the truth. i.e.
having a personal bad experience, or a romantic disapointment interfere with your judjment.
You do not mention if you have shared your time equally between the north and the south.
Just by reading some of the opinions in this forum it is evident that there is more than one side to the same story.
By saying "is the T/C that are the good guys" you mean that the Greeks are the bad guys. This is a strong statement to make and unless you know enough from both sides it can not be a fair statement.
