Turkey: Kurdish rebels release German captives
Turkish officials say Kurdish rebels have released three Germans taken captive more than a week ago in eastern Turkey.
Turkey's Foreign Ministry says the Germans are in good condition. Officials say Foreign Minister Ali Babacan called German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Sunday morning to let him know the hostages were freed.
The Germans were seized from Mount Ararat on July 8, reportedly to protest a German crackdown on groups that support Kurdish rebels.
Rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party have been battling for decades for self-rule in Turkey's southeast.

i told you..the germans were too boring even as hostages...after all Kurds like music, folk dancing, good tasty food but germans all foreign to all that..so it could never work!.
if they had jamaicans as their captives, then they`d still be there ,partying, getting stoned in the mountains on ganja and basically the adventure would have lasted months if not years...maybe next time.. |
