TURKLERI anlatan bir Siir

Kukrerim Dunyaya yel olurum eserim
Ermeni Kurd Kizilbas der keserim
Bana canavar desenizde beser'im
Guçluye geçirecek dis yok bende

Kendimi Batili sayar Batiyi Gavur
Içeriye aslan kesilir disariya kedi
Amerika deyince kopuyor odu
Yinede kahramandir bizimkinin adi

Yaratmisim bir Kurt gitmez basimdan dert
Yetmezse guc Umarim Bushtan medet

1999–2004
After his capture in 1999, the group's leader Abdullah Öcalan has urged the PKK to work peacefully to attain its objectives, and the PKK declared a ceasefire in that year. It changed its name to KADEK to reflect moves towards peaceful politics and co-operation with a wider range of ideologies, but it is claimed that this change was aimed to protect itself from the legal implications of being listed as a terrorist organization. A PKK/KADEK spokesman stated that its armed wing, The People’s Defense Force, would not disband or surrender its weapons, to maintain its capability of self-defense. PKK/KADEK avowing to not lay down its arms underscores that the organization maintains its capability to carry out terrorist operations.[14] Abdullah Öcalan, has declared his own militants as "No better than Murderers".[15]

Christians in Turkey
Posted by john akritas at 21:14 on 03 Jan 2008

A recent article in the Economist reports on the continuing fear and oppression EU-candidate country Turkey inflicts on its Christian minorities.

The decline of Christian communities in Turkey is a result of genocide and ethnic cleansing while fear and oppression stem from Islamic religious intolerance and Turkey’s fascistic Kemalist national ideology, which is expressed both at the state-legal level and at the level of everyday Turkish individual consciousness.

The Economist article says that the Greek community of Constantinople/Istanbul amounts to ‘4,000 souls’. In 1923, when the Turkish republic was founded, this figure was 200,000, reduced – as a result of measures such as the Varlik Vergisi (wealth tax) and Amele Taburu (forced labour battalions)– to 120,000 by 1955, when it was virtually wiped out by the Istanbul pogrom.

The Istanbul pogrom was encouraged by Britain – to stress to Greece the disadvantages of agitating for the end of British colonial rule in Cyprus and union of the island with Greece – but the truth is that the Turkish government of Adnan Menderes did not need much prompting to initiate and organise what amounted to Turkey’s final solution to the 2,600-old Greek presence in Istanbul/Constantinople/Byzant ium.

The Armenian genocide is a crime against humanity and the world is no longer ignoring that illicit act by the Turkish government. It is ironic that despite their differences both Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama are in agreement on the issue of the Turkish government recognizing the Armenian genocide[4].

The fact of the matter is that Turkey has never recognized the genocide of the Armenians and is not very far from committing another massacre in Kurdistan. The only reason for the Turkish attacks is to undermine Kurdish existence.

Apart from the Kurdish public, no one else seems to care about the situation in Kurdistan. Therefore I would like to renew my plea to the international community to boycott Turkish made products not only because Kurdistan is being attacked by the Turkish war machine on a daily basis, but actually because of the appalling record that Turkey has in the crimes against humanity such as the killing of Kurds and the genocide of the Armenians.

Finally, you should realize that with any Turkish made product you buy, you are backing, encouraging and promoting the denial of the Armenian genocide[5], the Assyrian genocide[6], the Greek genocide[7], and contributing to the recent killing of innocent Kurdish civilians by the Turkish government.

Adana (Turkish: Adana)(the ancient Antioch in Cilicia or Antioch on the Sarus)) is the capital of Adana Province in Turkey. The city administrates two districts, Seyhan and Yüreğir, with a total population of 1,530,257[1] and an area of 1,945 km²[2]. It is the fifth most populous city of Turkey (after Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Bursa).

For most Turkish people, the word 'Adana' associates with Kebab, şalgam, cotton, oranges and very hot weather.

Adana is named among the 25 European Regions of the Future for 2006/2007 by Foreign Direct Investment Magazine. Chosen alongside Kocaeli for Turkey, Adana scored the most points for cost effectiveness against Kocaeli's points for infrastructure development, while Adana and Kocaeli tied on points for the categories of human resources and quality of life.
