I do not want to be sarcastic, I have watched how much Turkey has sacrificed to get that membership. Whenever they needed your help in any case, they just dangled that carrot in front of you, when their puropse was over, they just cut you out.
Even Now if they plan any action against any Muslim country or against Islam, they will again rush to Turkey with promises of EU membership and you will fall again for the temptation (irrespective of what you have written now).
This is what happens, when you are cut off from your roots and try to pass off as something which you are not.
Turkey is a Muslim country. Its fate is irrevocably linked with Islam and Muslim's fate. It is a member of larger Muslim ummah, which number 1.5 billions and are bigger than any other common market or unions.
No other title shall suffice for it. Its honor and its strength is in its Islamic identity.
Even if admitted in EU, it will always be treated like an outcast.
Why, once a world superpower, Turkey is ready to accept all this humiliation.
Once you become Muslim, your honor shall always come thru following Islam and thru nothing else.
May be it is a hard advice for some, but your name is "Hard Turk" !!! You should live according to your name!! Turkey is not a Muslim country,it is secular.Religion is not an issue that is going to effect our fate. Our fate is tied to our Turkish brothers living in central Asia.We will join with them. Every German had to support Hitler or else he was a traitor to the Nation etc. It is not right to compare Al Qaeda with Crusaders. They came from outside to conquer holy lands. Al Qaeda ‘s aim is to free Muslim countries from West’s blind support. The real reason for all these extremists actions is direct result of creation of Israel in their lands. That is the root cause of most of world’s problems.

So they have no choice but to return to Secular Concept. The position of Islam is exactly opposite. Islam has a fully developed code of life that touches every aspect of Human and state. By becoming Secular, you declare that you are not Muslim any more. Islam is not a label like present day Christianity, which you put on your shirt. It is a state of belief and surrender. I know majority of Muslims think that by keeping a Muslim sounding name (and / or by following a few rituals) is sufficient to become a full fledged Muslim. If you study Quran, such is not the case. But now it is sour grapes, so every one wants to distance itself from it. May be in the beginning , when EU idea was new and had few takers, Turkey could have become its full member. But when more countries became its mmebers and its actual implications were seen, they decided to exclude Turkey from its membership. May be it was a lost opportuinity in 1960 s, but who was ruling Turkey in those days?

The Question therefore must address to each sect , for Islam like all classical thinking open for Interpertation called :Taffsir. Also

It is therefore inherently a dynamic religion constantly updated by men and women of knowldge.
Example Aytolaah Mukarem shirazi and former President of Iran Khatemi blieve Man and woman unconditionaly are equal.
They base their assertion on the Quran:
ONE : is God gave from his soul , souls to Adam and soul to Eve , therefore both been a part of God`s soul they can not be different.
Secon :Naass Means people men and women of all sorts.
And God created NAASS : Swassiah ; meaning we all who ever we are of different gender or races or ethnicks in the eyes of God we are equal.
Now some Mufti in Egypt may differ With Ahatollah Mukarem Shirazi and his school of thinking , I am Sure Talaban do ,and George Bush and Gordon Brown also desagree, they will say we Christian of EUrope and North American are superior to Rogue islamo Fascist , and also Turkish Army second it.
