Growing acceptance for gays in Trinidad & Tobago

Beverly King, has lost the plot. Gays are not accepted by families in Trinidad! It is heart breaking to hear stories these people have to tell. All the abuse, violence and rejection by families, friends, strangers and the general public is beyond belief!

What's heart breaking about refusing to accept homosexuality in one's family? Gays who flaunt their homosexuality like some prized possession should be tarred, feathered and run out of town.

If you feel so strongly about homosexuality why were you reading an article about the topic in the first place and futhermore spent time posting a hateful remark?

It is unfortunate when a person contracts this deadly disease. However, it is esssential to differenciate between a sick person and the life style that one has chosen.If the article is in fact the truth,Trinidadians should be applauded for their apparent care for an ill person. But it must not be construed that Trinidadians have accepted this unnatural lifestle that persons have decided to engage in.These homosexual persons are a minute part of the population and are of the few that the society as a whole should accept and affirm their lifestyle as being normal. There are persons in prominent positions in this country and the world at large promoting this agenda under the guise of discrimination and equal rights; and if one apposes their stance he or she is veiwed as a fanatic or as hateful.Trinidad and Tobago will stand out as one of the few countries in the world, that will not bow to this sinister agenda, buggery is still an offence in our law books.AND MAY GOD BLESS OR NATION.

I believe that we in T&T tolerate homosexuals because we are afraid that one might stab one of us of infect us with an AIDS needle. Homosexuals are people who we laught at and snicker at but we are not really friends with. Other societies in the develop world may accept the "buller men" as we call them but no parent in T&T remains in the same frame of mind when their son announces that he en joys a cocoa in in cacahole. Gays are not peritted in the regiment, shunned in the police and are chased from the teaching service. There was a gay principal of a prestige school for boys who is still hiding. homsexuality is not natural and peoples of the three major religious gropus in T&T have promoted this. as for me, i dont keep gay people around me because i believe all of them have AIDS and plan to spread it, so who want to play in too too go ahead but go america and do so

Bun dem, please learn to spell and use correct grammar. I doubt any gay man would want to be around you any way, so you don't have to worry about that. Your ignorance shows that reason will not work. We are fully aware that gays are not tolerated in most aspects of Trinidad life, so what's your point in stating the obvious? By the way, for your information, more hetrosexuals have AIDS than homosexuals. Check your facts first brother.

Aren't people aware that bi-sexual tendencies are in ll of us, due to our genetic and biological make-up of having both testosterone and estrogen/ It is a matter of bringing out such tendencies in an individual. People's negative remarks are due to an inner and subconscious fear. Taking it from a religious perspective, the only reason why homosexuality is condemned in the Bible, like masturbation, is that sex was only meant for procreation, and indulging in such acts for pleasure is not allowed. Even sex for gratification is not allowed. It was only officially changed in Vatican II Council.

Feel so strongly?? I have a right to oppose it and keep bullers in their place. If I had my way, I would be tarring, feathering and running bullers out of town myself as soon as they show their effeminate ways. But as long as they stay far away from me and mine, ie my two sons, I will leave them alone. But bullers feel that they have the right to tackle any good looking young boy they see and that their advances should be tolerated, if not accepted. Most of them are not prepared to be discreet and circumspect about their aberration and to stick with their kind. They are always on the prowl for "new flesh" and innocent straight ones at that. They flaunt their homosexuality and straight people are supposed to accept it. Well, not me and not with mine.

If it's okay for a straight man to holla at every hot woman they see what makes it wrong for a gay man to do?
If it's okay for people to discriminate against the gay lifestyle then should it be okay to discriminate against Black, Indian, Muslim, Jewish, disabled, poor and every other type of people in the world?

What is going to happen if one of your sons come home one day and announces he is gay?

Your logic is twisted, perverted and most of all shallow and illogical. A straight man calling out to a hot looking chick may be indiscreet or distasteful to the prudish, but it is natural for a man to be attracted to the opposite sex. But a hard stones, hard back buller man calling out (and most times they do more than just call out) to a young boy/man is unnatural and nauseating. Do you want a man to make advances to your son although straight might be vulnerable and fall for it?

That last sentence should read:

No one seems to touch on the point that homosexuality (though disputed as to whether it is morally right or wrong) is BIOLOGICALLY UNNATURAL!!! Anyone who claims otherwise is obviously blind! It is a physical abomination for 2 homosexual men to engage in anal intercourse - and if you dont think so try conceiving a child that way...just try. As the old saying goes "the truth is an offense" in these end times. And while gays seem to think their situation is comparible to the hardships endured by Blacks throughout history - remember there is nothing morally, biologically or physically wrong with being born Black (or any other colour for that matter) but engaging in dangerous, immoral or unnatural sexual activities IS WRONG & should not be tolerated.
