What more is there left to say, except regardless of the countless battles fought the final decisive war was won by Samoa (fact)– Game, Set, Match, keep the change you filthy pet eaters.

Side note:

I for one resent the fact that behind my back poly KING was given a matai title! Apparently for services rendered on the Samoan Forum. As I’m not one to hold grudges I will now respectfully call poly KiNG by his matai name – "Magava Kaukau".
Well Done (u prick!)

as I've said... there was never a war or a battle... quit it with your SaHOMO fantasies trying to act like this whole situations was some fantasy movie of some sort.

Tonga occupied Samoa as many other other neighboring islands and finally after five centuries, the Samoans finally grew some balls to chase out a few Tongan Occupiers... C'mon, SaHOMOz, you were slaves in your own land run by a handful of Tongans... Now if that ain't embarrassing enough, it was going on for many centuries...

That does not at all dictate to a battle let alone a war. LOL

The origin of the name MALIETOA came about when the Samoans tried to kill the Tu`i Tonga and while the Tu`i Tonga was making a hasty retreat to his Kalia he had a personal guard that has never been mentioned in this thread who stood his ground to fight off the angry mob on his own and because of this the Tu`i shouted out the words Malie To`a malie Tau...lets not forget he was only referring to this individual, but some how the Samoans took it apon them selves as a title.
Samoan version Malietoa
Correct translation: Malie To`a
Now does any know who this warriror who stood his ground and took on all of those that wanted to Kill the Tu`i Tonga...

Heres a hint it was said that he stood 7ft tall twice the width of any man during that time and was of Tonga and Fijian blood...

In time I will tell all in regards to Tu`i Manu`a and the Moa tribe and why Manu`a was never invaded by the Tongans as well and many more...watch this space

LOL Why are you trying to change trying to change the story?

"he had a personal guard that has never been mentioned in this thread".

More like never mentioned in ANY story. This is the full speech of the Tui Tonga.

"Ua Malie Toa, Malie Tau Ou te le toe sau i le auliuli tau, a o le auliuli folau O le a le toe sii mai se taua e Toga i Samoa"
(well fought brave warriors! In the future I shall not return here to fight, nut only pay friendly visits. Never more shall the Tongan wage war on the SAMOANS.)

You see, he was talking to the Samoans not some imaginary 'personal guard'.#EPIC FAIL Ahahaha...

Let me make this short and simple:

Tonga ruled Samoa. After hundreds of years, Samoa was finally able to regain its independence from Tonga and set itself free.

Today, Samoans still despise Tongans for that dark piece of history between our two islands. There you go!!

Samoans seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Mad about their slave history. The crap that their ancestors had to go through by the ruthless Tongans (our Tongan ancestors).

It is no wonder, SaHOMOz hate Tongans. But let's not hate them back yet take it as a compliment, move on with our own lives, and pay these lafa azzes no attention.

The more you dive into the histories of our people, the more you'd find that both Tonga and Samoa were one.
Tui Tonga was another King like Tui Aana, Tui Atua and Tui Manu'a - each having control of parts of Samoa (or Tonga, if you want to look at things from today's eyes - back then we were ONE).
Tui Tonga had much respect for Manu'a, if anything, He/They were in alliance with Manu'a.
Tui Tonga was Samoa's stronghold down south fortifying any attacks from Fiji.
We need to understand that over time, these "King's" started to separate and slowly, Tui Tonga's influence starting occupying parts of Samoa, or Western Samoa.
Over time, people started seeing the division and started seeing "Tongan's" as a different people (especially since by this time, they were mixing with Fijians, etc)...

sidenote: the stigma of 'slavery' eats at people and pride will get you to either claim it, or disclaim it. I for one think Samoan's weren't slaves, but more was being influence by a people who were at one time, ONE.

- Just a little glimpse into what life was like back then.

It's simple, but everybody and their mama's want to keep the beef going!

All you Losers arguing about the past SHUT UP ALREADY! Tongans are Tongans. Samoans are Samoans. Were all our own race. Samoa isn't the purest because we all from the South east! Tonga in English is a Southeastern wind that Vaka were used to steer from Fiji to Tonga which the Theory of the Lapita pottery makes sense coming from the West to the east (Fiji-Tonga) which is why Tonga got settled first before Samoa because the melanesian races had not made it there.

So before trying to tell us Tongans about OUR own History, I suggest you know & learn it first. Recent study has proven Nukuleka in Tonga to be the oldest Polynesian settlement, predating any Samoan settlements by a few hundred years. Scientists from Harvard also claimed Ah-Chings thought to be scientific study on our genes to be False & Unscientific. Plus Tongatapu in Tongan means "Sacred South" Of our island chains/groups North not of Samoa. PLEASE Samoans don't try telling us Tongans about our own history!=)

Plus if you read Ah-Chings article of POLYNESIAN ORIGINS There are loop-holes there, seems more opinionated than scientific. He has no references, no proof BUT JUST A THEORY. He's half Samoan and I've heard he dislikes Tongans so you think about it! Don't let his racial arrogance poison your minds.
