Hi Chloe

We stayed at the Palma Rima Hotel
This was our 1st time
We are so impressed with the people there that we want to go back again but next time stay in a small hotel or with a family (not too poor)

I learnt a little woloof before going and it was good to use it there.

When you say you stayed at a compound what does that mean/include?

The Compound in gunjur and it is owned by a friend of the family. Its just a brick wall with a well in it, it has concrete blocks with matresses on with a mosquito net. Thats all we needed really lol...The toilet was flushed by a bucket and the toilet was at the other end of the compound...but it was warm in the middle of the night so i didnt have any objections of going outside to get to the toilet... Im going back there this year in november...it was great. It sounds slummy...but i didnt want to go to africa as a tourist...i wanted to live how they live for two weeks. Do you have facebook? yeah, i learnt some Mandinka and used it...was very handy to know. wolof is a good language to learn too. Ive already looked at that link you sent me, but im rubbish with learning from paper haha. What part of the Gambia do you think you'll do next time? wb chloe x

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Cancer

You've got high hopes about someone or something today, and you're confident that everything will turn out well. If a positive attitude is a guarantee of a positive outcome then you have nothing to worry about. But is it? There's a chance that you're being far too optimistic, and confusing fantasy with fact. If so, you'll be in for a big disappointment.
