In spite of the previous post, I was able to contact sources that were in the courtroom today during the inquest hearing for Daniel Smith. Here are the actual highlights of today’s proceedings.

In a Bahamian courtroom, the witness stands when they testify. A chair may be requested but today only two requested a chair. A pregnant woman and Larry Birkhead. That one caused a bit of a chuckle in the audience.

Most remember that Larry Birkhead gave a statement to Bahamian police concerning the death of Daniel Smith in 2006. Today Larry attempted to paint a picture of Daniel as being a rowdy drug using teenager which conflicted with that prior statement.

There have been no medical records out of California or evidence or official reports of Daniel abusing drugs or having drugs in his system contrary to what has been told to the public.

Larry testified that there were cameras mounted to the ceiling in many rooms in Anna Nicole’s house. He said there is a video showing Daniel taking methadone out of the refrigerator. Questioning revealed because of the positioning, there is no possible way to see what was in the refrigerator or taken out of it and that fact was proven today.

As questioning went on and Birkhead’s answers continued to conflict with his 2006 statement that he gave to the Bahamian police, Magistrate Campbell asked Larry to read his statement. Larry refused. Magistrate Campbell admonished Larry and said he has the discretion to detain him in jail for seven days for not cooperating or answering questions and he would do so if Larry did not start answering the questions. Larry said he thinks that he should have an attorney present. The magistrate told him that he is a witness and there is no need for an attorney.

Transcripts are not readily available from the Bahamian court as they are in the United States, so the jury must carefully take notes to refer to when they are in deliberation. At one point, even the jury seemed exasperated with Larry and stopped their usual note taking.

Howard K. Stern’s attorney Wayne Munroe questioned Larry concerning when Anna Nicole was pregnant and in the hospital detoxing from methadone. It was said that even though she was there to detox, Howard gave Anna Nicole the duffel bag containing the very substance that she was detoxing from. Also notable was the fact that Anna Nicole’s doctor entered her hospital room at that time carrying an ultrasound of the baby. The doctor showed the ultrasound picture not to Howard but to Larry as if he knew that Larry was really the father.

All in all, it was not a good day for Larry Birkhead who occasionally covered his face with his hands during testimony. He finally had to admit that not only did he never see or have any personal knowledge of Daniel taking or using drugs but he also never saw or had personal knowledge of Anna Nicole giving Daniel any drugs either.

Karma.....today is Howard's turn

No one knows what is in the medical reports. Not opened to public by court order. Art is listening to rumor. Art has a personal association with HKS. Ray reported (but not at inquest) he had given Daniel two for the flight to relax him. DWS apparently did not take them.

It did not figure into his death. There was no valium in his system at time of death according to ME.

Hospital video @ 2:30 AM showed a "normal" Daniel walking with his mother in the hospital halls. HKS stated DWS had asked, "Why am I so tired?" If DWS had intentionally taken pills, why would he ask this question?

Daniel had massive doses of methadone pills in his stomach not counting that in his blood stream. He had not gone to Horizon's where there was a HUGE bottle in the refrig, and scrips show there were liquid and pills in HKS name.

Within 24 hours of Daniel's death, HKS had hired an atty to represent himself. That does not look good.

ANS told the nannies HKS had killed DWS. She told others 6 wks later at the funeral for DWS.

Anna screamed "Howard you are the cause of this"
Poor Anna remained sedated ever since....
Who can live like that?
She needed a Hospital at the end; she needed her room cleaned so she does not lay in S**t, but no...
So big deal he used to go fetch ice cream in the night big deal!!!!!after 12 years he was not there for her when it counted.

The way I remember the facts is that Daniel came up negative for a history of drug use, based on tissue, or some other test......

The rummor of the lady in the room next door that you all say she heard Anna yelling that, well she came to the inquest and said nothing about that. She said she only heard crying and people running to the room. Show me a trascript of Anna saying Howard killed Daniel. Your posts about calling Howard a murderer will he looked at. Don't think anyone of you can post lies and not see the inside of a courtroom. I see Wilma is next to explain her action. And anyone that was working for her behalf, well have fun because your NEXT. Carolyn Nairn, a patient in room 202 on the day of Smith's death, testified that she heard a lot of commotion coming from the room next door to her - Anna Nicole's room 201 - and a female crying and screaming, "My baby boy."

Smith died while visiting his mother and newborn sister in Doctors Hospital. The inquest will resume today at 10 a.m.

HKS behavior is suspect whether you like it or not. When a death occurs, who is suspected from the get go? Those who were present, those with a motive, and those most closely associated with the victim. Next, who had the means for the death "weapon"? Well, that is well answered.(Motive is not needed but it is of interest.)

Before you take it upon yourself to threaten me with "you're NEXT" perhaps you should first ask yourself IF the entire media is to be sued? I stand after them.

Anna DID speak out on several occasions regarding the death of her son. The first time she spoke out was at the hospital immediately following the death of her son. Several heard her. They reported it to authorities. The failure to come forth does not make their words less true.

At the house, there was hired help who heard her accuse HKS of being involved in DWS's death. There is still sealed statements ANS made to law enforcement. I doubt if you know what those statements are any more than I do.

At the funeral, ANS was heard again accusing HKS.

There has been much to this case to tweak an eyebrow more than once. The many, many delays in the inquest, switchero of ME, the DNA delays, etc.. I am sorry if you do not agree with my opinion but your threats to me will not change my views and are uncalled for.

Your threats have been noted for future use.

Thank you, that is what my research has proven as well. They like to discount one person...(at a time), but when several different people say it, at several different locations and times...
I sure would love to get my hands on the transcripts for the inquest.

CEE CEE Your one screwed up person. Give a name just one name of the person saying they heard Anna say HOWARD KILLED DANIEL. All you have is you heard it or someone told you, well that just dosen't do it in the court of law. Your so on the band wagon to convict Howard you believe everything you hear even if it was ALL MADE UP...But you go and live in LA LA LAND since it must make your day. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT there were 2 senseless deaths and one man who stands to gain from it was the common link between both. The only people who may not agree with you are Sternies: IN MY MINDS EYE they DO NOT COUNT; I think they drank some Cool Aid or ate some of Bonnie's Chocolates but they are not dealing with reality IMO - I can not imagine how they can even liken him to any one humane? A humane person would have done it ALL differently. ANNA should have gone to a hospital and not kept sedated from the day Daniel dies onward. On every interview she was on she was slurring, and pie eyed. Howard feared what Anna may say if she was straight, and kept her in LaLa land for his own benefits. A well educated attorney does not hand out with a druggie for 12 years unless he has an agenda.

Of course ANS told the police that she was mistaken about her son taking drugs.

When Daniel entered Valley College in Los Angeles a year ago, Smith herself told authorities, her son's attitude changed and he became abusive. "At first I thought it was drugs," she says, "but I later found out that he was seeing a girl." His behavior changed when he was going through a break-up with her, she said.

She also said, "As far as I am aware I don't know that Daniel was using drugs of any kind, than the one prescribed by Dr.(Sandeep) Kapoor." After Daniel had stayed out all night, Smith put him out of the house. He went to live with family friend Ray Martino.(A representative of Dr. Kapoor says that the doctor never prescribed medications to Daniel.)
