Well said, unfortunately I think the remainder of those commenting on this tragedy are too ignorant to see what they obviously take for granted. I am absolutely appalled that I am a citizen of a nation with such heartless, selfish persons.

What we need are tolls at the boarders, rivers, and another body of water. If they want to come in they have to pay taxes a year in advance and show proof that they can pay for their own healthcare, taxes, housing and earn wages. If they can't go back home until you can be sponsored in by a relative whose already doing these things and can afford to take care of you.
Our citizens are already strapped and can not find jobs. American is no longer the land of opportunity; Bush saw to that.

Why is it always the USCG that has to protect the Bahamas? Whatever happened to the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and the British Royal Navy?

We listen to the presidential candidates and the press as they lament the state of our nation. It seems that our country is hanging on the brink of disaster and each candidate says our nation is doomed if we do not elect him/her. But the illegals keep coming...do they know something that the politicians and media do not? If it is so bad here why do they come?

My point being is that some indivduals are willing to risk their lives to come to this country while others just have to walk across the border. Put in my suggested changes and lets see how many are willing to do what the others have ..... risk drowning. We have made it way too easy for the Mexicans to get here.

Sounds like 7 less illegals coming here to me. This is a good thing, all around. Everybody wins here.
