I do believe this young man deserves some sort of consequences for the obvious crimes he has commited. However, I would have to totally 100% agree with him being hired with the CIA or FBI, something of that sort. He is an extremely intelligent young man, he has the mind set to help our investigators in catching big time criminals. He can help our detectives in a great deal because he obviously knows how the minds of a criminal works, I believe most of his actions or should I say bad decisions fall back on the childhood & how he was raised. I think it is fair to say this young man more than likely has some sort of depression or other "issues" but I truely believe he has the brains of a genius. Its amazing how smart a man so young can be, just think if our FBI & everyone else who was included in the search for him had a hard time finding & capturing him... he obviously has more "smarts" than the ppl with masters degrees. He is not some mass murdered, rapist, or drug adict.. which is mainly our society now-a-days. He was on a run, probably wanted to go back home, live a regular life & tell his story a long time ago.. but knew he couldnt because "we" were after him. He is probably assuming he will be in jail his entire life. I honestly think he should just have to sign something stating he will spend x amt of time working as someone in the FBI or other such agency....ps) aside from the technical crimes he commited---I am extremely amazed at what all this young man did, Colt you truely are a boy genius, you'll def have stories to tell to the ppl you meet for a long time! I am glad you are safe, and I wish you the best in the future.. just know lots of ppl disagree with you & what you did but there are still so many who not necessarily support everything you did, but they support your reasoning behind your method & we understand how your "smarts" took you for a "ride" .. a ride around our lands.. Nobody was hurt physically, so what a few material things were destroyed... but you know what material things are just that, ppl need to learn that there is more to life that those.--Lots of Love to Colt & his "so called" family, best wishes! "Barefoot Bandit" a story I look forward to telling my kids.

Catch me if you can !!!

This is a real life repeat of that show.

Lets have him help us solve crimes for us as his probation.

One year 8 hours a day, brecks, lunch and then let him into society.

He can have a home, car, and ankle bracelet during that first year.

Out of all honesty, I admire him. He has lived a very tough life; our mainstream media failed cover the most significant details of his tough, troubled live. His father was a drug addict, his mother abused him, he didn't have the support most kids had. He was tired of living society; society wasn't treating him well at all. Now, his mother is capitolizing on his fame; she hired a well known a defendent to protect herself. She acted as if she loved her son, even though she didn't have a relationship with him... The first thing he did after his capture was call his aunt for an attorney; not his mother (evidence).

To conclude, the "bare-foot" bandit desires some acknowledgement; people need to understand why he acted the way he did. Well, he learned more out of school than in school, that's for sure.

He has a bunch of charges against him.

The Bahamas are going to charge him with gun possession which is illegal in their country. Then there is the theft of the boat and other things. The Bahamas are not going to let this kid go, nor should the USA force them to do so.

When The Bahamas are done with him, he's looking at multiple felony charges in Washington State, Nebraska, South Dakota and possibly Idaho, Illinois and Iowa for car theft, boat theft, airplane theft, breaking and entering, etc.

The kid is a thief. My family owns airplanes and if this little a-hole stole one of our planes and then crashed and killed himself or worse, innocent people, we would be sued.

Not all rich people were born with a silver foot in their mouths. Many people with money work all their lives to get what they have. The economy is such a wreck that the majority who cannot afford these things will cheer this kid as a "Robin Hood" type character. Well, he's not. Also, he is now a legal adult.
