The US has flooded our islands with corruption, illegal drugs and guns.
Is this what the US is really doing in P.Rico?
No political party or boricua leader in the island (and in the states) dares to speak about "the elephant in the room" (even the pro independence).
That's what happens in the US colony of Puerto Rico.

Poor Jorge, he has never been able to leave the island so he could see the hundreds of thousands of totally assimilated Americans of Puerto Rican ancestry. We have thousands & thousands of them in California. I know a couple of them who changed their names to not be recognized as Puerto Rican. They ain't proud of what you have done with their island.

I'm so sorry for you, but I can assure you that there are many many Americans of Puerto Rican ancestry who only speak English. There are many of them who have never been to the island. There are many of them who never want to go to the island. They are Americans first! Once you get away from the rican ghetto in the Bronx, Puerto Ricans beautifully assimilate, speak English, raise their children as Americans, campaign for & vote for all the leaders of their great nation, they work hard, pay their taxes, and are a valuable part of American's fabric.

You are as deluded as Dave Lopez that the USA "wants" PR any longer. The only thing the island has contributed to America for generations are the proud American men & women from the island who serve their country in the armed forces. Believe me, idiots, they do not do it hoping to be granted independence.

Any fool who thinks that you will be permitted to continue as a colony as you have voted to be ad infinitum is a bigger fool than any other on earth.

You whiners have to decide to crap or get off of the pot. America is getting real tired of your inability to make a decision or accept responsibilty for your future.

Hell, you can't even accept responsibility for your present state of dysfunction. Of course, if you keep murdering each other at your present rate, you will wipe out the entire population in a few years.

Puerto Rico belongs to every American you fools. It's just that most Americans don't even know where it is, or what it is, or why we can't get rid of it.

Postealo. You just copied this verbatim from the troll. Is this your thoughts or are you another troll. If you are not a troll, please give credit to the source, so one can reply or not reply accordingly. Just an observation, not a judgement at this time.

Many Americans are filled with such fear (of the way the US is losing (at great speed) its military power and world influence) that want to instill that same fear to the people of Puerto Rico.

i think ,is good news to hear about tourism industry increasing.,however i see people talking and not really understanding that we are a small territory {100MILES MULTIPLIED BY 35}even with that disadvantage ,most of our people are decent citizens and very receptive to our strengths and weakneses....however we try our best to do things better.,and have competent professionals in all fields as good as many bigger places .let us try to be respectful with the comments expresed on this site.will you...

Keep up the good work. No matter what anyone says, tourism is important to the economy of the island.

There are some beautiful hotels & resorts not only on the north shore, but south & on Vieques.

Work on making airport/port transfers smoother for cruise passengers. It is okay now, but could be improved. You have the capability to make it a pleasure rather than an ordeal.

You have very competent professionals in the tourist business.

Whwn was the last time you have been to the Bronx?. I'm sure you have no intrest in coming. Heh, that's fine.

However, just as a matter of mention. There are plenty of decent neighborhoods in the Bronx. Neighborhoods of diffrent ethnicities thart are rich in decent hard working people and beautiful homes as well as Condo and Coop buildings as well.

Hollywood ,unfortunately, has done a fine job in staining the "American Psyche" with Fort Apache Images.... While they still do exist. It is nowhwere near as bad as years past. There are plenty of decent law abiding, hard working Puerto Ricans in the Bronx. There are plenty who have left for greener pastures as well.(literal greener pastures). In my family there are both sets.

Many of our well known Puerto Ricans have come out of the Bronx as well. Many Islanders have had family who lived in the Bronx at one time (that fact they like to keep hidden).

Our first Supreme court Justice was raised in the Bronx. Her brother is aslo a Doctor. Many Puerto Ricsans families have buisnesses in the Bronx to this current day. Including mine.

Not all are lazy, shiftless criminals stuck in the underclass. We do ourselves a great diservice by perpetuating this image of the Bronx only being full of misfits.

A lot of decent, courageous hardworking people who are homeowners have come from the Bronx or settled here at one time or another as well.

We should tell our own story and not let others define our experience for us. Not just the Bronx but across all of the USA and the island as well.

TPMP 35 is correct that the Bronx really no longer qualifies as a Puerto Rican ghetto. There are & always have been nice neighborhoods in the Bronx. I have a friend in Parchester who loves the place. I normally only get to the Bronx every couple years. Normally, my friends from the Bronx meet in Manhattan. Actually, I have more Puerto Rican friends living in Manhattan & Brooklyn than in the Bronx.

Ghettos, be they Jewish, Hispanic, Gay, Black, or Asian normally only have a 60 year life cycle unless they become tourist attractions like a Chinatown or a Castro. Greenwich Village which was a gay ghetto no longer qualifies as such, nor would Chelsea. Gays like Puerto Ricans have been able to integrate/assimilate into all neighborhoods througout NYC...all boroughs.

Robert W. Seminow, a famous real estate educator, taught that neighborhoods normally are on the rise for 20 years, remain stable for 20, and take another 20 years to decline before the cycle over again. Ghettos, neighborhoods occupied by a minority group, follow the same cycles generally. There are exceptions for sure, but generally, most ghettos in the USA today develope & disappear in less than a hundred years.

I'm sure that even La Perla has changed in the last 100 years.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
