To Yvette,
I just got back from this cruise.
The Ole lady signed us up for this.
YES it's involved in The Timeshare BS.
But None of it was on board the ship.
You can tell its a European ship.
we too had problems with the rooms AC(was ok at best).
The rooms we had(4 of us)
Was bunk beds..LOL
Food at the Rio was buffet style and good.
Breakfast was also Buffet on the upper deck.
I would not do it again.
If you want a Cruise go to a REAL cruise line.

WOW! I see good reviews and bad reviews. My wife and I are veteran cruisers (Cunard, Holland America, Royal Carribean, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival, Disney. and a few others. I will tell you upfront, this is a very affordable cruise, Do not expect the best, but, you will get your value for the money you spend. I think it is a way to give you an idea what cruising is like. You will have to spend more if you want better. I think it is great for a family with kids on a tight budget. We sailed on a cruise ship, years ago, called THE BIG RED BOAT. I believe this is in the same category. I had no problems with this cruise. The crew did put forth a great effort(very satisfied) and as far as the language barrier I have seen this problem on just about every line we have sailed with. Remember, not everyone is happy go lucky, their are those who complain when there is a cloud in the sky or no clouds. Oh, and I have never seen a ship that included port or fuel charges in their quoted rates. AHOY and Happy cruisin'

Just got back from one of these cruises and the biggest problem is the A/C. I suspect that since this was originally built as a Scandanavian Ferry, the A/C system was just not designed for Florida/Caribbean heat. Also, the boarding and unboarding is very disorganized and there is a lot of waiting. The food is very good, and if you can avoid drinking too much, you wil make out OK cost wise. This is not a 1st rate cruise, but it is also not the cruise from hell by a long shot, (just demand that they guarentee you a room with adaquate A/C.)

Hi,
I just signed up for one of these cruises. These reviews (while divergent) are helpful. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I hope my experiences are among the pleasant ones.:)
I ran across a website that includes photos from the ship.(but some are artist renditions) which might be useful.
http://bellorinphotography.smugmug.com/Travel...
also a detailed history of the ship itself can be found at:

Does anyone know the significance of some literature saying Celebration Cruise Line and some saying Caribbean Cruise Line?

wow! someone please help because me and my husband was planning on doing this same trip[ in august 2009 so please let me know if we should do this!! we will have to catch a plane from norfolk ,virginia to get to florida to take this cruise.
If I can give you any advise at all, it would be "do not take this cruise". While it is an OK boat (I think it is too little to be called a ship) and the food is very good I would NOT do it again. We upgraded to an outside cabin with a window and could not stay in the room very long at all because the air conditioning could hardly be felt. If you are going to spend the money to fly down for a cruise, there are some really nice cruise lines with terrific rates that would make it worth your while and give you the memories that you will enjoy looking back on. The only reason we took this trip was because we "won" the trip, we were already going to be in Florida vacationing, and all we had to do was take a look at a time share which would only last 1 1/2 hours. Yes, we are old enough to know better, but an hour and a half of our time for a couple of days on a cruise did not seem to be a bad exchange. WRONG. As we discovered, everyone who entered "won". and the presentation lasted almost 5 hours! Even though we were very up front with the rep in the beginning we could not get out of there. One guy would go away and we thought we were finished and another one would show up. They just try to wear you down. After all, they will probably never see you again and this is their only chance to get your money. DO NOT TAKE UP THIS OFFER!!!!

If you go on this trip not expecting the best you will have a great time, its not a brand new carnival ship or anything like that but its still a great trip, good food, good fun, and stopping in nassau was nice, overall i had a prettey good time and i would say for the price it was good. I did like the fact that you choose your restuarant from the main dining room, to the buffet rio, to the italian place, then the cove, they also had free ice cream on the top deck i belive in the djs ice cream place

SCREW You ELLE G. Lori is indeed correct about his experience on the Bahama Celebration Cruise. This boat is totally unstable and made many customers sick. you either work for this cruise line or you never have been on this cruise. So why dont you stop objecting REAL CUSTOMERS...

u r sooooooo correct. this ship is horrible and fradulent. they charge u one a mount over the phone and when u arrive at the dock they nail u for fuel charges and mandatory gratuity. There r no life jackets in ur room and not enough life boat's (real ones) on board. The rest of the boats are lift raft's. The ship's a/c was not working in many levels and rooms.( no wonder they had fan's in the rooms). it's horrible. do not sail with them!!!!!

This was my first cruise and for the price I thought it was good. I was on here looking for the rip off report that I saw 2 days before I was to leave. Which said that the free cruise was a rip off and that there was no boat and they charge your credit card months after they take the inital agreed upon charge for taxes and gratuity. So needless to say I was stressed I had already got my tickets to florida. So people please I know everyone thinks they can smell a con and it is good to report it but those dumb **** ruined my trip. I was at ease when I saw there was a boat but now I had to worry about extra charges for which I would have to cancel my credit card in order to stop. There have been no extra charges to date. The offer I had was a survey over the phone and afterwards they did try to offer me other promotions for which I declined so fifteen minutes of my time and approx 450.00 dollars including flight and hotel for a cruise to nassau isn't that bad. I had an inside cabin which was tiny but I didn't want to watch the water so I could get sea sick it just didn't make sense to me. Yeah the bingo and other little games and casino were a rip off but how else are they going to recoup some of the expense really people. I was on the boat 7/1-7/3/09. My point is know what your saying before you start with the rip off statements. If you had a bad experience fine but don't spoil the pot for the rest of the people.

A group of us are planning to take this cruise in August, we are experience cruiser, there is no perfect ship, every ship has its up and down and sometime **** happens unexpectedly. I can only imagine its similar to other ships but it worth the try, most persons complained because they want to get back their money. We have read reviews before and have gone on cruises which had bad reviews and found quite the opposite, you must understand that there are miserable people who are just dishonest and want to get back their money after they have enjoy their vacation. This wont stop us from cruising in August on Bahamas Celebration.

Took the Ramada time share package and the Bahama Cruise and overall I am extremely pleased. To begin, the Bahama Celebration is a great ship with excellent crew. We had a packed ship however didn't feel it at all. The food first night was a Brazilian dinner with servers serving different meat at your table. Everything from steak, to turkey, to polish sausage , they keep coming and placing meat on your plate till your done. They also has full buffet. Second day they had the Brazilian meat and a full Mexican buffet. The servers were all dressed in Mexican outfit and all the food you could think of. The ship was clean, air condition worked excellent, room was adequate, flat screen tv with cable, cnn, fox etc, servers ready to treat you and help you at all times. Folks...this is an awesome deal..I cant believe people find anything to whine about. I was expecting a bad cruise after reading the reviews but this blew me away. The pool was open with drinks served all the time. I spent a lot of time at the ocean view lounge and guy plays the piano and sings the song you ask him to sing. Its amazing. I spent 2-3 hrs talking to the crew and the folks are just great. They treated me and my wife like royalty. However there is a $10/day tip and $15/day fuel surcharge per person that is taken off the credit card at the time of entry. The time share wasn't that bad. It was a 2 hr presentation, no pressure. I liked the offer but told them I needed more time to think. They took me to a 2 bedroom place after my initial refusal and then tried to convince me again. After a second"No thank you" we had a nice handshake and and good bye. The resort at Fort Lauderdale (misp.) was not that great. It was an upscale motel, however the pool area looked good. However the one at Orlando was awesome. It was a true resort. Great rooms, King size beds, dedicated swimming pools for each section of homes, great welcome center , 10 mins to sea world and universal.... Overall it was a great package. My family truly enjoyed it. I would do it all over again. I met a lot of Canadians and people from all over. It was a good trip and my family is tankful for a good experience overall.

Lauderdale but when i go on the website and I check to see the list of cruises that sail in and out of the port, celebration cruise line wasn't even mentioned so now im scared that its all fake and i'm going to get riped off. So can someone assure me that I'm not going to get robed and the ships gonna be there?

interesting! the review are quite extreme either love it or hate it ;) Anyway, our family plans to give it a try!
is $199 per person a good price for 3 nights ? any place offer better than that? We have a 9 yrs old, I assume kid won't feel bore there ,right?
Ok, look! You do get what you pay for. Our first "cruising" experience was with this same outfit. Not Celebration but rather (I believe) the Imperial Majesty Cruise Line back in the 80's. And, yes, we did it in response to a timeshare presentation in the Myrtle Beach area. I think the vessel was named Magestic but I could be wrong about that.

Anyway we got to Ft Lauderdale in the Spring right when the Yankees were there for Spring training. That was a treat!

Got on the ship. Compared to some of these reviews our ship was a cattle boat. And was packed with college kids on Spring Break. It was a day trip to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, and a good thing, too. Even in relatively calm seas there was still a lot of pitching and yawing. Although there were "cabins" available they were optional and came with optional cost. They were mainly to get out of the sun.

We got to Freeport after the proverbial four hour cruise and stayed five nights at the Xanadu Hotel Resort. Had a great time. But we were young and what did we know. Rum, sun and ocean, thats what!

That was our first cruise and first visit to the Bahamas. In spite of the seediness and other disparaging thoughts that the rest of you have expressed, because of this experience we fell in love with both cruising and with the Bahamas.

Do your homework. There are plenty of review sites on the WWW. Check them out. One rule of thumb we start with is the "rule" of $100 person per night. If we pay less than that we probably will not go. If cost is $125 -$150 per person per night there is a SIGNIFICANTLY better chance we will go and that we will be mostly satisfied.

But the main thing is - try to have some fun. How many chances do we get to do any of this stuff any???

We just came back from the 2-night cruise to Nassau and loved it! We had a great time and the crew was helpful and we were actually impressed with their English. It was a relaxing and enjoyable trip and cruise. We went snorkeling in Nassau and also loved it. We plan to go again next year but instead for the 3-night cruise.

i came from the cruise today and it was a piece of crap. the pool could like only hold 10 people. the rooms are tiny. even the rooms in prison are better. for a upgrade its like 349.00 and the only thing they do is like the bed bigger. The waiters bring your water or drink like 30 minutes after you ask them. the food is horrible. the a/c on the 3 floor didn't work. and my mom had a heat stoke. all they did is bring us a tiny fan. this boat was build in 1981 so you can like get sea sick easy. the boat was a ferry thats why the rooms are tin like a rat hole. My little brother didn't have fun because the slide is horrible. ohh i forgot, the cruise line knew the a/c was broken. and didn't care and never did anything about.they rip you off because they pay like $300 for a tiny room. this vacation was horrible and when i say its horrible its horrible. because i have been in a lot of cruise

Do not go on this boat it is horrible and they tried to make us sit through the time share 3 times including on the boat. I got sick because you can feel it move the whole time. Nothing is free about this boat or the trip we had to pay almost 4,000.00 for our trip. Please beware and don't get fooled like we did.

I bought a cruise certificate for the Imperial Majesty cruise lines off of Ebay in 2008. I called and booked this cruise for my mom and I. I paid for an oceanview room. In July 2009 my mom and I drove to Port Everglades and took their 3 days cruise. When I got there and checked in they put us in an inside room. When I objected they had no oceanview rooms available. They stuck us in the dundgeon on deck 3 in two separte rooms. The rooms were about 86 square foot. There was no TV in the rooms. The shower and A/C in the rooms did not work. Luckily when I went back to complain a third time this time they gave us an inside cabin on the 7th floor with two twin beds. It was okay. Nothing spectacular. It had a decent sized shower, TV, and thank God the A/C worked. During the cruise there were families that were staying in these rooms that had no A/C. Many of these folks flew to Florida just to take this cruise. I was just reading through previous posts of folks that had taken this cruise after we did and it seems to me that the NO A/C thing is ONGOING. The first night we dined in the Crystal Room. Food was okay. The next night we dined at the buffet place where we also had breakfast. The staff doesn't speak english very well but we could understand them. The food was mediocre, the service was very poor. I had to chase down our servers to get tea, water etc. I couldn't believe how small the adult pool was. It looked like it could only fit a handfull of people. The kiddy pool isn't a kiddy pool. It's a slide that drops off into a wading area. Many adults were down there. It was nicer than the adult pool. The auditorium/bar area where they had nightly entertainment was okay. The entertainment was less than mediocre the majority of the time. They ususally had their celebration dancers, followed by a juggler, then a comedian or a guy who was a singer. when I went to the guest desk for something usually someone was hanging around it complaining about something being wrong with the rooms. I have been on other cruises and have never seen this many dissatisfied people. I would not recommend this cruise to anyone. My mom and I coined the phrase "Happiness is the Bahamas Celebration in our rearview mirror". We nicknamed this ship the "Bon Voyage Maintenance ship" because the staff were always telling the customers that they were working on something that was broke. Bahamas Celebration knows it has problems and should at least ensure that it's rooms as running water in the shower and toilet, and working A/C. These are basic things a human needs in order to survive even in the carribean heat. Major cruise lines such as Carnival, Princess, Royal Carribean and such has better prices for a 3 and 4 night cruise. I am an adequately experienced cruiser. Take my and my mom's advice and stick to the major cruise lines. You'll get your money's worth with those guys and be happier.
