"The return of a short cruise helps Port Everglades, which will gain at least $3 million annually in passenger and other fees, port spokeswoman Ellen Kennedy said."

Maybe they can actually clean up the cruise terminal in FLL. What a dump. Bus stations don't even look that bad.

One thing they don't mention is the rip off known as Port Everglades parking. Three day cruise would equal $45.00 in parking. Add $10.00 per person per day for gratuities, gambling, and shore excursions, and you have a $1,000.00 vacation for 2 people. For alot less money, I can spend 3 days in Marco Island and not have to sleep in a small closet without a window.

I just got off this ship this morning. It has good and bad points. The good is that I met some very nice people, had a decent night sleep in the cabin, decent shore excursions, entertainment was good. As for the bad, it all started with the lifeboat drill. We all congregated by the elevators on each floor. The staff took our room # and how many people were in the room. They explained in case of emergency that the lifevests were located on Level #5 with the lifeboats !!! Aren't the vests supposed to be in the rooms? None of the cabins had the lifevests in the rooms !! So in an emergency in the middle of the night, we would all have to rush down to get our vests and struggle from there. After that, most of the people left realizing that the drill was not over. The girl then showed us how to put the vest on. We never had the opportunity to put on the lifevest during the drill as they were with the boats. I heard they failed their first drill, but passed the 2nd one allowing them to sail. Later that night, the maintenance people were tearing apart the ceiling outside my cabin since the AC water was leaking onto the floor. The next day, I heard that some people had very cold AC, warm rooms or no AC at all, no plumbing, etc. After getting back onto ship after Saturday excursion, we were told that the ship was going to be in port for another night. That answered my concerns right there. The pool was not open but then again, it really isn't a pool - looks more like a 5 foot high bathtub - can't swim or dive into it, just stand in it to cool off. Elevator doors worked on occasion, a couple times, the doors would not even open, so I walked the stairs majority of trip. The TV's were not operable in any of the cabins either, the only operable TV was in the pub lounge area. The fitness center and internet cafe are not open either (still working on them). Casino was decent. Food was okay in both restaurants. Because of all these problems, but they actually said that people were complaining about why leave Bahamas on Saturday night and be at sea all day Sunday; they also opted to give each of us a free cruise in the next 12 months. But you still have to pay the port charges, etc. The staff was very accommodating given the circumstances. I had no problem with the staff - they were very good. The problem I had was that they put this ship into service too quickly especially when the majority of the amenities were not in operation.

went on cruise over wekend with my 3 kids had a great time. So much for kids to do and keep them out of my hair. I guess a vacation is all what ya make it. You can either be miserable and look for something bad or go and have a great time and make the best of your time. Entertainment was excellant. My food was delicious, and crew members were so nice. I would travel again and will with my free cruise!!

Great, an Obama cruise that will be subsidized with government money so they can send those high class welfare recipients on vacation. Are doggie bags allowed?

Found the ship clean and comfortable. Many things to do on board. The stateroom was fine with good bath and shower. The food was fair to good depending where you dined. Entertainment was good for the price..included. The ship's crew were very friendly, polite, and helpful. They are still installing TVs and some other improvements. I think it was a great value. The debarkation process left something to be desired as there was a lot of waiting. The Port Everglades terminal was basically a warehouse but that is not the fault of the ship. Once the cruise ship gets into its regular schedule, soe of the mior quirks will work out.

Mary Lou glad to hear you had a good time. I am a first time cruiser and is going on the Bahamas Celebration on 4/13 with 2 kids. I was wondering What did the kids do in the kids program?
Were there drinks available throughout the day?
Could you bring drinks or snacks onboard?
What kind of room did you have?
Which restaurant had the best food?
Whats a good shore excursion?
When is the best time to arrive at the ship?

Sorry for all of the questions, but like I said I am new to this I just want to know what to expect. We are all going into this with a open mind. And regardless we said we were going to have a good time. So any tips will be gladly appreciated. Thanks
