They must be very good at their jobs as I have not heard of any of the tanks being taken over.

They are battle hardened loyal troops who can only be beaten with airpower and armour. The rebels cannot succeed until these divisions are defeated.

I disagree, if you notice that even while the resignation happened more and more security and army were killed. its the Rebels themselves that are getting organized and moving forward without the leadership in exile. there is rumour that outs consultants are helping the Rebels to organize.
Resignation or not they still cannot even get along with each other. If they ever did become cohesive, it would be even easier for Assad to target and obliterate them. Without foreign military intervention, those fools haven't got a prayer of defeating the highly trained Syrian military machine.

I wonder why Rebels do not take over more tanks and heavy artilliary? maybe that is the new plan
Plan? LOL!! The rebels don't even know how to drive tanks! It's like putting 6 years old behind the wheels of tractor trailers!

Unfortunately part of what you are saying is correct especially with having to fight Russia at the same time. I think it is time for Qatar and Saudi to enter the picture with tanks and heavy artilliary to help train the Syrian Rebels to fight. The Rebels alone cannot fight the army and the Russian weaponry, so if we get military intervention it will be because of Russia.

That is not going to happen. Qatar and the Saudis do not want to get on the wrong side of Russia, China and Iran. The only prayer that the opposition has of making any progress towards their cause, is through diplomacy.

It is unfortunate that these soldiers are not under a fair and diplomatic government that would use this army for the protection of Syrians and not the destruction of them and their homes.

The soldiers may consider themselves as protectors of the majority of civilians. The civil war should be shut down by the US after the deaths of these children.

All we hear out of you is how everyone but Assad are scumbags and murderers! What do have to say about this assadasswiper?? Gruesome video Saturday showed rows of dead Syrian children lying in a mosque in bloody shorts and T-shirts with gaping head wounds, haunting images of what activists called one of the deadliest regime attacks yet in Syria's 14-month-old uprising.
The shelling attack on Houla, a group of villages northwest of the central city of Homs, killed more than 90 people, including at least 32 children under the age of 10, the head of the U.N. observer team in Syria said.
The attacks sparked outrage from U.S. and other international leaders, and large protests in the suburbs of Syria's capital of Damascus and its largest city, Aleppo. It also renewed fears of the relevance of a month-old international peace plan that has not stopped almost daily violence.
The U.N. denounced the attacks in a statement that appeared to hold President Bashar Assad's regime responsible, and the White House called the violence acts of "unspeakable and inhuman brutality."
"This appalling and brutal crime involving indiscriminate and disproportionate use of force is a flagrant violation of international law and of the commitments of the Syrian government to cease the use of heavy weapons in population centers and violence in all its forms," said U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and international envoy Kofi Annan. "Those responsible for perpetrating this crime must be held to account."

A truce and peace do nothing to help the rebel's cause. Their only agenda is bloodshed, and the Syrian government will make sure that they shed plenty of it.

Judith Miller reporting from Camp Apaydin, near Antakya, Turkey - There are few signs of a military presence at this remote refugee camp 20 kilometers from Antakya, known in ancient times as Antioch, where the followers of Jesus were first called Christians.

THE SYRIAN "REBELS" ARE LIKE THE LIBYA REBELS, HIRED BY THE UNITED STATES.

AND IT'S TYPICAL OF USA CAPITALISM--LOWER THE SALARIES.

IN LIBYA EACH HIRED MERCENARY TERRORIST COST THE UNITED STATES $10,000, AND IN SYRIA THE COST FOR EACH SYRIAN MERCENARY REBEL TERRORIST THE UNITED STATES HIRES IS DOWN TO $3,200 NOW.

AND OF COURSE THE "NEWS" HERE WRITTEN BY GOVERNMENT-AGENT JUDITH MILLER IS ALL TYPICAL U.S. MEDIA CRAP

Assad showed his diplomacy yesterday as he butchered 125 people including 30 children, this man does not know what diplomacy, truth or trust means. I would say he does not even know what family life is nor parenting as it did not bother him to destroy these families and their homes. The only thing now is death to Assad as just negotiating he will destroy anyone comeing to negotiate, that is how he negotiates.

How is the rebel Free Syrian Army any better than the Assad army?

It is the rebels choice to risking their own children's lives in these dreadful skirmishes with Assad's army not Assad.

One army allows them to be human targets and the other army shoots at them.

The rebels fight like hamas" fighting till there is not one civilian left alive to shield them with"

Don't be so willing to believe Assad would be so eager to end up with a saddam's fate that he would start openly massacring innocent people.

How could Assad allow it to happen when there is only a negative outcome for him?It must be further looked into.

It is much too late for that, Assad has been butchering Syrians for 14 months, unfortunately backed by Russian weapons he feels very brave, let see how brave he feels with Qatar supplying tanks and Saudi supplying weapons and Turkey supplying both from the other side, I am betting he will want to set down and talk quickly after that.

Who is going to man and command this armoured armada. With no aircover they might as well stick to walking.Assad has elite armoured divisions that have taken years to build and equip and Assad could use his airforce on a legitimate military formation.Stick with the libya trick, it gives you airpower.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
